No joke, prob 10% of the channels are unwatchable and a lot of the others are really bad but watchable

TimC
But do we still get to pay rent for every DirecTV box we bought?? I wish I could get cable out here in the sticks.
Egret
Cable in my area is horrible. No HD until just recently. Now it's very limited and there's no HD DVR.
I Like Soup
I just switched from my normal Directv to HD (with HD-DVR) and had it installed on Friday. My brother says it is pretty sweet...as I sit here in Austria... So I've gone from $51.99/month to $69.99/month and I guess it will be increasing to $72.99...dang. AtomicCEO
no static for directv I've never seen static on cable. I thought the whole point of cable was to avoid static.
JoJoTheWebToedBoy
More HD channels then any other Cable provider in the country..... NFL Network..... Sunday Ticket.... It may cost a little more, but I'll stick with DirecTV.
TheGrunt
More HD channels then any other Cable provider in the country..... NFL Network..... Sunday Ticket.... It may cost a little more, but I'll stick with DirecTV. Yup. It's more than worth it. You'd have to pay me to to switch back to Comcast. I'm sure the demand for DirecTV has gone way up too, which is one reason why you see the higher prices.

Bill Swerski
cable here sucks, if it were not for the static and downtime I would move to it. No joke, prob 10% of the channels are unwatchable and a lot of the others are really bad but watchable That sucks. Because I know from personal experience that a Texas thunderstorm will knock out one's DirecTV signal for a good 30 minutes. No Sunday Ticket on cable. End of argument. True, but the other sports packages are available on cable. And, IIRC, the Sunday Ticket costs something like $270 now. Not sure I'd want to pay for it, even if it were available to me. No joke, prob 10% of the channels are unwatchable and a lot of the others are really bad but watchable I live in the stomping grounds of Comcast so I usually get great reception unless I piss someone off in the customer service dept. then somehow my reception goes haywire
Ursa Majoris
I prefer Comcast but the bill is getting outrageous nowadays.. Indeed. Mine just went up 8% - 9% for very little, if any, benefit. I'm glad they're taking a stand against NFL and BTN Networks to stave off yet more increases.
