General Itals
Is he a lock to take over that spot when Briggs leaves? Also, anybody hear any buzz on a kid named Kelvin Smith, LB, MIA? A guy picked him up in one of my IDP's and actually paid a pretty hefty price for him. Kinda made me scratch my head.

As for Kelvin Smith: he was drafted this past yr with the 7th pick of the 7th round(219th overall)...he goes 6'2" 233lbs and played for Syracuse. I would speculate it's Williams. But if I were in a dynasty league where I could grab one or both, I wouldn't hesitate on either.

I speculate it will be Okwo. The Bears coaches were very high on Okwo coming out of the draft. Jamar showed he couldn't play to nearly the level of Briggs when he did substitute this year. He made tackles...but they were yards downfield. I think the advice of holding both is solid....but from a homers perspective, I think they will let both Okwo and Williams battle it out....and if I am not mistaken, Okwo is bigger and faster than Jamar...could be wrong though. Swiss Cheezhead
Okwo is bigger and faster than Jamar...could be wrong though. Probably a little faster, but not bigger. I'd guess their WLB will be Williams or somebody not on their roster yet.

Yep, you are. Okwo is 5'11", 232. Williams is an inch taller and about the same weight. And since I watch about 99% of all things Chicago Bears, Williams simply LOOKS bigger/faster/better. Ziachild007
They have made an offer to Briggs, so it might end up being a moot point.

darin3
Briggs is reportedly unhappy with the offer though. Personally sick with his primadonna asz. Let him go be an average LB on an average D. Bears will be fine with Williams and Okwo.

The Bears would probably be better off using the money they save on not signing Briggs to beef up their god-awful O-line.
General Itals
Fwiw, in the league that I owned Williams, I tried to also obtain Okwo, but was unsuccessful. So, today I was able to trade Williams and Nate Burleson for 1.13 in our draft.
