BigMikeinNY
This is for all the games played May 19th - May 25th We had no winner last week! Thanks to Big John, I am able to run a weekly MLB Home Run contest from now until the end of the summer (season.) This has been put in the Tailgate because the "Non-Football" forum is ghosttown Here's how it works: You pick one player each week, that's it, one MLB Player. You are attempting to pick the player that will lead the MLB that week in homeruns. Every week, we start over, and everyone chooses a new player. So, for example, the first week you chose Carlos Lee. The second week you chose David Ortiz. The third week you chose A-Rod. The 4th week you chose A-Rod Again.....etc..... Each week you can pick a brand new player. The week goes from Monday - Sunday. If the player you picked led the MLB in homeruns that week, you get 1 point in the standings! The Huddler with the most points at the end of the regular season wins! Rules: 1. You can only pick one player per week. Any huddler that makes multiple picks in a week will receive zero points. The week runs from Monday - Sunday. 2. None of your posts can be "edited". Any posts that show that they were "edited", will not be counted. 3. If two or more MLB players had the same amount of HR's that week, all players recieve the 1 point. 4. You can pick the same person mulitple times. If you wanted to, you could pick Ryan Howard 23 straight times. 5. What do you win? Winner will take home a brand new DVD of their choice. 6. A new thread will be started by me for each week. Please do not post Week #4's choice in Week #3's thread (for example) 7. Each "new week" thread will be cut off at Midnight, Sunday night. 8. Multiple Huddlers can chose the same player (Example: 4 people chose Albert Pujols) WINNERS: Week 1: Nobody Week 2: Nobody Week 3: I_am_the_swammi (Chase Utley 5 HR) Week 4: Nobody Week 5: Nobody Week 6: Nobody Week 7: Tru_soldja_22 (Soriano 7 HR) Best of luck to all! Not to nit-pick or anything, but the Soriano pick (week 7) was made Monday night. The rules clearly state that the cutoff for the week is Sunday at midnight. I haven't been able to find sortable stats on the MLB website that allow you specify a range of dates.
BigMikeinNY
Thanks, Big Mike. I'm wondering where you go to find individual home runs for a particular time frame. I haven't been able to find sortable stats on the MLB website that allow you specify a range of dates. Every Monday I go to my fantasy baseball websites on Yahoo. I then use the stat category "HR Last Week"
