The Packers' starting weak-side linebacker is active and will start tonight's regular-season opener against Minnesota. Hawk, who never has missed a game in college or the NFL, returned to practice on Thursday after missing 3 1/2 weeks with a strained muscle in his chest. He was fitted for a harness and presumably will wear it tonight. Center Scott Wells (lower back) is the most notable name on the Packers' inactive list. There was a chance he would be activated as a backup in spite of missing the entire week of practice, but rookie tackle Breno Giacomini will dress instead. The others are as I guessed earlier: CB Pat Lee, S Charlie Peprah, G Josh Sitton, TE Jermichael Finley, WR James Jones and DE Jeremy Thompson. Rookie Brian Brohm is the No. 3 quarterback. Inactive for the Vikings are: S Madieu Williams, CB Marcus McCauley, RB Maurice Hicks, LB Erin Henderson, T Drew Radovich, FB Jeff Dugan and DT Letroy Guion. Rookie John David Booty is the No. 3 quarterback.
