Alaska's Mt. Redoubt

Any word on any damages yet?

My brother lives in Anchorage.

CNN has updated the story in the link above:

Ash from the volcano is expected to blow north and pass west of Anchorage, said Dave Schneider, a geophysicist with the Alaska Volcano Observatory. He described the ash as a trace -- meaning if some landed on a windshield, the driver could still see through it.

Power said the ash will be about the thickness of a penny or a dime but warned residents to take precautions.

Doesn't look to be a concern to Anchorage residents.

When these things blow, it's some of the more spectacular footage there is. Not Jenna Jameson "blow" spectacular, but spectacular nonetheless.

Anyone got a link to some good footage? Of Mt. Redoubt - not Jenna Jameson.

Nothing like the eruption of St. Helens. NO hugh boom...just a constant puking of Ash and steam. No major problems that I am aware of. Looks like the Kenai Peninsula is going to be free of ash...it is all going Nothwest...Fairbanks direction. It is very over cast so you cant see anything....which is too bad in a way because I can see the Mountain standing in my driveway on a clear day. We had an electrical outage this morning but I guess it was just precautionary. It s back on now, obviously.

Here is a webcam...but as you can see it is too overcast to see anything.

I think what is more telling is the OTHER webcam that is 7.5 miles away from the volcano is completely offline (dark).

If you read it says that to conserve batteries, that cam is only on for 5 minutes every 4 hours.
