gbpfan1231
Just before I created this topic there was an ad on the top of the Forums page for a vacation in Lake Geneva. Last week I used some airline miles and booked a stay in Lake Geneva. Was this ad a coincidence (I think not) or does The Huddle know what sites I go to after I leave this site? I think Facebook did something called a beacon that followed you around and then targeted you with specific ads based on where you went on the internet. A lot of Facebook users did not like this. Is The Huddle now doing this? If this is the case I am not liking it. I don't think a website should "track" where you go and use that information to target you for ads. DMD
To my knowledge no such capability is used like you mention but what some advertisers can do is determine where you are and send you ads pertaining to that area if they want. It is just an IP read to see the general area where it is. Except for Alexgaddis who's computer we automatically download and then use the contents on our sister site The Smuttle.
