Meat Face
Why does that just not sound right? I don't understand why Dallas doesn't drop Dirk for Shaq. Dallas clearly isn't winning championships with Dirk. Shaq wins championships.
Jo
As a Heat fan, I'd do Odom/Grant/#1 pick in a minute. Now they're talking instead of the #1 the Lakers will get Butler instead, which makes me iffy on the trade. It transforms a very young team into a not-so-young one, plus its taking away yet another scoring option. If this goes through, a key to the season will be how fast their #1 pick (Dorell Wright) develops (keep in mind he's straight from high school). Boy better hit the weight room. He put up 30 in his first summer league game, but also (a) got abused on D and ( strained his groin.
I Like Soup
I'd wager Shaquille is rejuvenated going to a new team. Next year will be interesting for Heat fans.

Only In America
It was a very bold move by the Lakers because Kobe hasnt signed his contract yet. Wouldnt it be funny if they lost them both. Kobe still could go to jail also.

REZ
I think it's a terrible trade for the Lakers. Even old, there is only one Shaq. On the Lakers (even without Kobe) with him they were a threat to win the title. I don't see how the pieces fit together for them now. You think San Antonio is going to have trouble with them without Shaq in the middle?
lynch
I actually am looking for a run of SA-Minn Western Conf. Finals. They now have the two best players in the West. Kobe is no better than the third best player in his conference.I would love to see a few years of The Big Ticket Vs. The Big Fundamental I think that would be a lot better basketball. Big John
Shaq at a press conference today. He ends the sentence with "...period. P-U-R-E-A-D" So he hired Yukon as a spelling tutor? eek! shrug

And it will make the East more competitive. Not that I care about the East, but I just like to see the competition.
