rajncajn
http://www.houmatoday.com/article/20100418...S?p=4&tc=pg ...and for New Orleans Saints fans, watch what may occur in Washington with restricted free agent outside linebacker Rocky McIntosh. Late last week, McIntosh told Washington officials he would not be attending the mini-camp workouts and it has been widely speculated that the Redskins may look for the best trade possible involving the former standout Hurricane linebacker. McIntosh played both strongside and middle linebacker for the Hurricanes, but he has primarily played the weakside position in the NFL. McIntosh has two strong backers on the Saints coaching staff already. Wide receiver coach Curtis Johnson was the wide receiver coach and chief recruiting ace for the Hurricanes in the early to mid 2000’s before joining the Saints, and in 2006 and 2007, McIntosh’s defensive coordinator was Gregg Williams. No speculation as to whether he would play strong or weak as Shanle is also capable of playing both. My guess is strong since the Saints have more depth at WLB & especially so if the Saints can land Weatherspoon in the draft. Rumor is the Skins want Jammal Brown for Rocky & Carter (doubt that happens) or a 2nd round pick. Edited April 19, 2010 by rajncajn

rajncajn
No. He would have to sign in order to be traded. Which I think he would do if he knew the new team would work out a new contract. However, I don't think the Redskins have enough to get him because I don't think the Saints are interested in Haynesworth.

keggerz
If the Saints did acquire McIntosh I don't think they would then look to draft a LB in round 1.

And if the Skins get Jammal then the #4 overall pick would become very interesting. Perhaps the QB of the future.
keggerz
And if the Skins get Jammal then the #4 overall pick would become very interesting. Perhaps the QB of the future. I think they would then probably try to trade down....and fwiw, 1 OT doesn't fix that line.

Agree that 1 OT does not fix the line but I do not think they would try and draft a RT or G that high, maybe I am wrong. Also agree they would try to move down but seems like most everyone wants to do that.
darin3
As a bit of an adopted Saints honk, I sure would love to see Weatherspoon down there. I think he'd be an instant starter at WLB and could really help that D.
