Hankk
So the dentist informed me that porcelain veneers for the top teeth only are $16,800. They are tax deductible, he said. I don't think that I dislike my teeth that much

I don't think that I dislike my teeth that much I had four molars done for one tenth the price, in Los Angeles. Something's not right with your dentist. frankf
WOW, my teeth would have to be in pretty bad shape to spend that kind of money. Insurance cover any of that?
buddahj
Do you know how much blow & hookers you can get with that kind of cash? I know I do.
geeteebee
You should try brushing and flossing once in a while.

Puddy
I'm not that surprised given that I just went to the periodontist two weeks ago. I've had a crown one of my front teeth for a long time. Turns out my root is fractured. I can either get a bridge (which means they must file down a perfectly good tooth next to the crown as an anchor) or an implant (which basically extracts the root and replaces it with a screw into my bone). Periodontist cost just for the implant is $2,700. Then back to the dentist for a new crown. Cost $1,500. So that's $4,200 for one tooth which coincidentally is exactly 1/4 the cost of your four. Delicious_bass
Not to hijack hankk's thread, but this may be somewhat related... Anyone here know about or have bruxism and/or any opinions/info/experience/etc with protectional mouthguards?
Hankk
You should try brushing and flossing once in a while. I do - religiously. Bad genes, apparently.

The cost is for 14 toofs - $1,200 a pop. According to my "research" this is on the high side (It appears that the range is something like $750-$1,300 ). Square
Porcelain veneers are expensive as fook, but you do end up with pretty much perfect teeth afterwords. It's basically what a lot of actors and models do. Too much jack for me but some people (mostly rich with self image issues) think it's worth it.
