Brentastic
With all the attention on Megatron, I'm leaning toward benching him. I am starting DeSean in favor of him which isn't really a big chance, IMO. Anyone else benching him or can anyone make a case to start him against Revis and Cromartie? faceplant
I will not bench Megatron. Ever. Revis is very good, but he has been burned before by less talent.

Brentastic
Agreed but I'm thinking the Jets defense will only focus on Megatron since he is literally their only weapon. I'm still on the fence.
Jagwired1129
The matchup isn't great for Megatron but they will likely be playing from behind, I don't think Revis can win a jump ball versus Megatron IMO. Megatron will get his looks, desean is just to fragile. I would never sit Megatron regardless of the matchup. Id sit Desean IMO. I couldn't imagine benching Calvin Johnson. good luck with your decision.
The Grey Pilgrim
I guess it always depends on who your other options are, and I tend to draft WR's earlier than most, but benching Megatron???? Wow, I can only hope the teams I play against bench Calvin Johnson against me.......

Wow, I can only hope the teams I play against bench Calvin Johnson against me....... Well, it's not an easy decision which is why I've gone back and forth all morning. I think DeSean is gonna have a good game in a shootout vs IND. Plus like I said, I suspect NYJ will focus solely on Megatron and force other guys to beat them. Brentastic
Morons are benching Megatron. There's you answer. Morans or sharks. We'll find out by 4ET.
Furd
I think that the thing that you have to consider is that Johnson does his damage in the end zone and on the sideline in those "jump ball" type situations. It really doesn't matter who is trying to cover him. So I say Revis Schmevis. The real issue is whether the Lions get into scoring position such that Johnson is a TD threat. That being said, you have an attarctive alternative in Jackson. I think that I roll with Johnson because Stafford is going to throw the ball 40+ times, because the Lions have no chance of running the ball. I did decide to roll with Megatron mainly as a hedge since I have DeSean starting in another league.
Brentastic
Why aren't you starting both? I'm starting Collie - he's an every week starter IMO. Most may not agree with that, but my 1st place team does.
theprofessor
Revis has been beat multiple times this year and has been average at best. I think because of his length Cromartie covers Megatron 70% of the time. Start Megatron!
CaP'N GRuNGe
Starting: Boldin, Jackson, & Megatron Bench: Colston, Harvin, Mason, Crayton, Garcon, Ajirotutu Edited November 7, 2010 by CaP'N GRuNGe

Old Man Hoody
OK, so not looking good for Megatron now, but he's always been better in the 2nd half. Let's hope that pans out.

Old Man Hoody
Yeah I've been quite happy with Pettigrew this year. And we told people to pick up Burleson on the show this week. DET is loaded this year.

The Grey Pilgrim
I"m back to take my lumps. Today is not my day for prognosticating. First, wrong on starting Sproles. Now wrong about benching Megatron for D Jax. Sorry, Brent. Hopefully my advice gets better results in the future.
Brentastic
Switched it back to DeSean a minute before the games Like I'd let you momos influence me.
Brentastic
That is literally about as uninformed a thing I have ever read on this board EVER?!?!And yours is the most hyperbolic. Look, Best hasn't done anything terrific since 4 (or so it seems) and don't try to convince me that anyone else is a true threat. If I'm a coach I'd purely focus on stopping Megatron and it appears Rex Ryan felt the same.
