Furd Posted December 14, 2011 Share Posted December 14, 2011 About 10 years ago or so, my firm represented a hospital in a case in which a women lying on a gurney was being pushed into an elevator when it malfunctioned. The gurney became trapped between the outside elevator wall and the wall of the shaft. The elevator went up to the fourth floor and back. The woman lived for awhile. And they never go anywhere if the doors can't shut. And I can't believe it would shut so "hard" that she couldn't get her leg out. Not saying I don't believe it, just really odd. If I saw that I would be instantly suspicious it was some sort of dangerous rogue elevator and I would open fire with my automatic weapons while flinging my bible at it. (In emergencies it is o.k. not to cling to your bible so long as you instantly retrieve it after the danger has passed. At least this is so for marginal catholics.)
