MikesVikes
I bought the magazine today and haven't even opened the pages until now. We got a Huddled that wrote into the mailbag. The legend that is Henry Muto lives!
darin3
I may pick one up just to have something to read on the can. Nowadays our can-side rack is filled with nothing but parenting mags and Good Housekeeping.
Henry Muto
The guy who writes the dynasty rankings actually emailed me a copy of them about a month before they came out in the Magazine because every year I get on his case about how he ranks players. Last year as example he had Spiller 28th dynasty RB ranked below Turner and Redman ? I mean geez did we not see Spiller blow up 2nd half of 2011 and Turner on his last leg and Redman really ? He also had Miles Austin ranked over Dez and many other head scratchers.
Henry Muto
Ok take a look at the "expert" mock draft...the dude at 1.01 took Rodgers ????????? Rodgers is going in the 3rd/4th of most my real drafts. This is why I dislike "expert" mock drafts. We need to rid the world of "expert" mock drafts they need to put something on the line make it count for something. The same guy also took Brady in the 4th........Expert I tell ya.
Henry Muto
I bought the magazine today and haven't even opened the pages until now. We got a Huddled that wrote into the mailbag. The legend that is Henry Muto lives! Thanks for noticing I was in the book! Here is a fun fact if you still own a fantasy index from 2010 or before check the dynasty section his rankings are listed as "Keeper league dynasty cheat sheet"...I actually got him to change that in 2012 to "Dynasty league cheat sheet"...I got him to change the name I told him that the majority of players do dynasty not keeper and he should change the name and he did ! Henry Muto
Some dynasty wacko rankings - Nicks 30th WR, I tried offering guys who have Nicks WR's well above him in the rankings and I was told to go pound salt. LaFell over Michael Floyd and Britt ? Umm really ? He always has rookie's ranked too low guys L-Miller didn't even make his top 50 list last year (But McClain did ?) It's dynasty right ? Axe Elf
LaFell probly should be taken before Floyd. MIke Shula is going to make Cam Newton stay in the pocket and pass more, so LaFell should improve on his 677/4 to something like 850/6, which would land him inside the top 30 WRs. He won't outproduce Britt when healthy, but the author may be accounting for the likelihood that Britt won't be healthy all season. Taking Rodgers #1 overall and THEN taking Brady at 4.10 is just inexcusable, though. And you wonder why the world needs Baby Jane...
Henry Muto
LaFell over Michael Floyd in a dynasty league is inexcusable. LaFell's current dynasty value is nothing, Floyd would command a handsome price.
MikesVikes
I did have some older magazine in my computer desk but I threw them out when we decided to have a pool table where the desk was. Those early rankings are hard to stand by. The FFI is usually the last FF Mag to hit the shelves and there aren't many on the shelf this year. I still haven't really looked at it yet. I looked at the NFL schedule to see the televised games but that's about it.
MikesVikes
I noticed that the Giants play a Thurs night game on wk 6 then play the Vikes wk 7 on a Monday night, 11 days later. Vikes also get another early bye week this year so Adrian will have to continue pounding on the defenders late in the year without breaking down. The legend that is Henry Muto lives! Thanks for the heads up. I don't usually read the mailbag stuff, but I'll go back and check it out. The thing is these magazines are probably for the people who watch football casually and just do fantasy for fun, like a work league or something. In these type's of league I wouldn't be surprised if QB's go super early. Rodgers at 1.01 is not smart, but the mock is probably realistic of what most people reading it will see. That Expert's league is a best ball format. He probably thinks that guarantees himself big points from the QB spot all season. Not saying he's right or smart, but guessing that's the logic. Do they still do the Q&A after? I bet that's his answer if he was asked about it.

Check out that same guys rankings in the Fantasy Index and he has Rodgers #1 overall so it doesn't matter that it is best ball and actually the reverse is true in best ball it is smarter to wait and take 2-3 decent QBs and you score as much as a top QB. In H2H leagues you gain advantage at QB by having a top player not best ball....either way the guy has said he would take Rodgers #1 overall he listed him #1 overall...a few years ago Lou T of BFD had a QB ranked like #1 overall then in the mock draft he had pick 6 and when that QB was still on the board he passed him up ...that was bizarre you rank a guy #1 overall then don't even take him at 6 pick.
