BeeR
IMO this guy's nose hairs have more of a clue about the NFL draft than Melvin Krapper - and IMO this looks spot on: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000928583/article/mike-mayocks-2018-nfl-mock-draft-browns-pick-sam-darnold

Def.
I get he's generally the closest out of the big media guys...but I just don't see the big 4 lasting all the way till 15.
stevegrab
I think he has the Browns picks right, but his comment seems puzzling, talking about Darnold being ready week one. That tells me he is not listening to what the Browns FO says, or is just trying to tout Darnold as potentially being ready to pump up the pick. "Darnold can develop at his own pace. If he's ready Week 1, that's awesome. If he sits for a year, that's fine too." How is it awesome, GM has said any rookie QB they draft will sit, and WILL NOT START this year. They told them all that, and watched for a negative reaction that might be a red flag. A guy that really needs a year to develop, and may have a higher ceiling (Allen) may be the more logical choice for a team committed to sitting their rookie QB. (If you believe Dorsey, and so far I have no reason not to.)
Caveman_Nick
Higher ceiling is debatable. I have heard many analysts talk about the skills that Darnold has and that Allen can never develop. Big Ben type skills. Haven’t heard that in reverse as Allen’s strengths are widely considered to be ‘coachable’
