When a player on IR is activated by their NFL team, the fantasy team owner has the option to not to activate the player to the active roster (can be done for up to two players). Active for the 2023 season.8

2. Rule Review Vote #3A: IR Rules (No dead year cuts)

When a player on IR is activated by their NFL team, the fantasy team owner has the option to either activate the player as normal, cut the activated player for no dead year or cut another active player for no dead year. Active for the 2023 season.7

Players on fantasy IR must be activated as the player is activated in NFL and all normal cut penalties apply. (No rule change)5
