Monsters Of The Midway
Thought it would be kind of fun for all the homers in here to post what they thought would be the best defense of All-Time that they could put together from their prospective teams. Let's assume the only defensive formation that is run is a 3-4 or a 4-3. Chicago Bears DE: Dan Hampton DT: Allan Page DE: Richard Dent MLB: Dick Butkus MLB: Mike Singletary OLB: Wilbur Marshall OLB: Rosevelt Colvin CB: Dick Lane (technically Chicago Cardinal) CB: Donnell Woolford S: Gary Fencik S: Richie Petitbon
Menudo
Pittsburgh Steelers DT - "Mean" Joe Greene DE - L.C. Greenwood DE - Dwight White OLB - Greg Lloyd OLB - Jack Ham MLB - Jack Lambert MLB - Mike Merriwether CB - Mel Blount CB - Rod Woodson SS - Donnie Shell FS - Carnell Lake Only tough call would be between Merriwether or Kirkland. I went with Merriwether. The rest, I think, are pretty obvious, and I have hard time thinking that any team could come up with a more talented list. Guest Sores
Alan Page doe not belong anywhere near a Bears list. 637580[/snapback] Especially as a NT which he would have to be in the proposed 3-4 above....

BS Miscreant
Actually more of a Cowboys fan but I figure there are legions here who will take care of them. Since I live in Tampa, have watched them since '76 and no one else will probably bother... DE - Lee Roy Selmon DT - Warren Sapp DT - David Logan DE - Simeon Rice LB - Derrick Brooks LB - Hardy Nickerson LB - Hugh Green CB - Ronde Barber CB - Donnie Abraham S - Mark Cotney S - John Lynch I realize Nickerson and Rice spent a good amount of time with other teams but they both compiled the bulk of their significant numbers in TB. Greg Lloyd was my favorite player for years -- loved to watch him hit. This group stacks up preeeetty well against the others so far ...
