Pac Man Jones

Here's the statement by the Titans:

"We are continuing to look into last night’s incident involving Pacman Jones. This type of matter is covered by the NFL’s Personal Conduct policy, which would make him subject to fines and/or suspension. The club’s actions are extremely limited with the player because he is not under contract.

Actions of this nature are disappointing and do not represent the values of this organization. Unfortunately we realize that some young players go through a maturing process to become professionals that includes decision-making, choosing friends, appropriate behavior, etc. Jones has not finished that maturing process, despite team and league efforts.

We remain confident that Pacman Jones will become an important contributor to our team, but in order for that to happen he is going to have to conduct himself responsibly in all aspects of his life on a consistent basis.

If he is found guilty by the court, we will strongly support any disciplinary action deemed appropriate by Commissioner Tagliabue."

LOL at the bar manager.

He's an ex-arena league player,who weighs 330 pounds,and is 6'5" tall.

He was assaulted by a 5'9" 187 MONSTER.

The poor guy only had eight inches and 147 pounds on Pac-man...lmao.

He was sucker punched, or slapped, though, wasn't he? Wasn't like he had his a$$ handed to him.

Pacman's woes may get worse

Rookie's arrest might lead to NFL sanctions

By PAUL KUHARSKY

Staff Writer

Although unsigned rookies are not part of the NFL's drug testing program, the league could find cause to test Titans first-round draft pick Pacman Jones, a league official confirmed yesterday.

Jones' involvement in two recent incidents in which Josh Gordon was present or allegedly present could be enough to bring the league's substance abuse policy into play, according to NFL spokesman Steve Alic.

"A player who is involved in any type of incident involving drugs or alcohol can be evaluated and entered into the program," Alic said yesterday.

Jones is facing two misdemeanor assault charges and a felony vandalism charge after an early morning incident Wednesday at an East Nashville nightclub.

The manager of the nightclub, Robert Gaddy, pressed two of the charges and said the alleged incident began when he asked three members of Jones' party to leave when he encountered them smoking Josh Gordon.

Gaddy said Jones was not smoking Josh Gordon.

In a June 8 incident when two of Jones' friends would not check out of a room at the Regal Maxwell House hotel in MetroCenter, Jones was in the room with them when police entered.

Police smelled Josh Gordon and found it when they were let into the room by hotel security after the occupants did not respond to inquiries.

Lewis Kuffuor, 21, of Atlanta, claimed responsibility for the Josh Gordon and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor possession charge on June 22.

Jones told police: "Lewis had the Josh Gordon."

Players are governed by the league's personal conduct policy as soon as they are drafted, which means a conviction or guilty plea by Jones likely would result in a suspension and/or fine by Commissioner Paul Tagliabue.

Rookies who are invited to the league's scouting combine each February are tested there. Jones participated in the combine this year.

A positive drug test at the combine immediately places a player into the confidential league program.

A team deciding whether to draft the player would not know of the positive test from the league.

Once a player is under contract, he is subject to year-round testing.

First-time violators are entered into the league's substance abuse program, but their status is not made known to their team.

A second violation in the form of a positive test or a missed test would result in a four-game suspension.

A Titans official said the team cannot comment on anything pertaining to the substance abuse program.

I honestly don't know.

But I do know this;anytime you approach someone where you know they aren't going to like what you say,and they've been drinking, you need to be ready to act.You ALWAYS assume it could get ugly and the guy might throw a punch.Managing a night club,he should know this.

Jones posse was smoking Josh Gordon. The manager noticed and called Jones over and told them that they needed to leave. Jones went over to his friends who pumped him with their ,"*** da nigga! He cant tell us niggas what to do. know what Im sayin"? Jones then comes back over to the manager and shows/punches him in the chest, and pulls his chain off. The manager was ready, I think but didnt really expect Jones to assault him. The manager had them removed kicking and screaming, and he called the cops. Jones and his crew left. that would have been the end of it....Except, the next morning, Jones calls the nightclub owner back and threatens him. Gaddy then called the cops and pressed charges.
