The sports guy said he was told by Clark's family last night that the ligament was torn. Does this mean that they will bring Proehl in now? That was the speculation that last night. edit: never mind, I found the Proehl thread. Edited November 27, 2006 by Gunther

The Next Generation
As was said on another site, the Madden Curse strikes again! They've been showing the commercial with Clark getting slammed by the Eagles and low-and-behold, playing the Eagles, he tears his ACL, with Madden actually color-commenting the game! Be afraid, very afraid...
Mark5
Dating to the Terrell Davis injury, these ACL things are wierd.. Guys tear walking, bending joints and are able to walk away. (well MOST of them).. I remember have Terrell that year and he got up and walked to the locker room then BAM.. DONE FOR THE YEAR.. Looks like Addia's stock just went up a bit. Don't the Colts still have 2 very capable backups?
The Next Generation
From The Indy Star prior to the game (Clark was pissed): "One of the recent commercials for the popular Madden NFL '07 video game features Indianapolis Colts veteran tight end Dallas Clark getting roughed up, complete with painful grunts, by a couple of Philadelphia Eagles. It's as flattering as Wile E. Coyote being flattened by a semi on a desert road, according to the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. "Everyone has told me about it,'' said Clark, who'll hope to avoid a similar fate tonight when the Colts entertain the Eagles in the RCA Dome. "I haven't seen the commercial, but I'm upset about it. It makes me look like a punk.'' On the commercial, Clark runs a crossing route and is wrapped up by Eagles safety Brian Dawkins. As he spins around, he's whacked by defensive end Darren Howard. For emphasis, the play is shown a couple of times. "Everyone is talking about my face and my grunting and the noises I make,'' Clark said. "It sounds like I'm dying. "I want to know why the people picked me. If they come and ask me, 'Hey, we're going to make you look bad, is that OK?' (but) they didn't ask me.'' Since this interview took place prior to the game, do you think he thought the curse got him as soon as he was hurt??? This curse is just too much!!! CaptainHook
The Colts ended one injured player's season Wednesday but are hopeful another will return. Defensive tackle Montae Reagor, who started the first five games but has been out since sustaining head injuries in an auto accident Oct. 22, was put on the reserve-non-football injury list, ending his season. Meanwhile, much uncertainty remains about the right knee of tight end Dallas Clark, but he will not immediately be put on the injured-reserve list. "He's not going to play this week," coach Tony Dungy said of Clark, "but it's maybe not season-ending. We just have to monitor it and see how it goes in the next week to 10 days." Clark reportedly told teammates after Sunday's game against Philadelphia that he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. But Dungy said a magnetic resonance imaging test "was really encouraging." "It wasn't a situation where (doctors) said, 'Hey, it's an ACL sprain for sure, put him on IR,' " Dungy said. Asked if Clark damaged the ACL to some degree, the coach seemed evasive. "It's not necessarily an ACL tear. It's a ligament stretch or strain or damage." from Indianapolis Star Edited November 30, 2006 by CaptainHook
Bill Swerski
That's interesting. Even if it's only a severe sprain, he's going to be out for at least 6 weeks. So, if the Colts got really, really lucky, they might be able to use him in the AFC Championship Game or the SB (I don't think they'll even get that far). Good thing that they have Proehl, possibly Stokley later on, and serviceable guys in Utect and Fletcher. While Clark is an important part of the Colts offense, I'm more concerned about Sanders, Brock, and Diem.
Wally
So who get's Clark's touches, Utecht or Fletcher? I know they look at Fletcher in the redzone, but it seems that Utecht is in the game more often.

CaptainHook
Stokley practiced for the first time on Wednesday. They think he might be back for this weekend's game. I would expect the Colts to use more 3 WR sets with Clark being injured. The news on Dallas' knee reminds me of what happened with Edge. I really doubt he plays again this year. What exactly was Stokley's knee injury? It sure took a long time to heal up. It seems like he could get hurt sitting down on his couch to watch TV. Good thing that the Colts have another option in Proehl right now.

I think that sums it up, ie Utecht (who sholud start anyway IMO) gets short stuff in the middle and Fletcher gets end zone looks. Don't know why.
