Donutrun Jellies
Soooooo, what juicy punishment do you think SD is plotting for Norv Turner? If they went so far as to fire Marty S after going 14-2, what the heck will they do after Norv goes 6-10????? Let him "room in" with Mike Tyson? Babysit for Travis Henry's kids? Caddy for OJ? Force him to date Brittany Spears?

irish
Well after firing Marty last year, using their logic they'll probably give Turner an extension.

Demosthenes
Marty wasn't fired because he went 14-2. He was fired because he has never, and will never, be able to win the big game. What happens to Norv, I can't say. A negative turnaround this big surely must at least lead to talks of a new coach, but if they're able to go even 8-8 or 9-7 and there's signs of returning to even close to last year's form, there's no reason to fire him so hastily. I personally think he's not cut out for a head coach job, and should go back to the booth up top, but it's not the end of the world yet. Randall
14-2 wasn't the problem and you all know it. It was his record in playoff games. They did it very poorly, but his record in the regular season was great, but not his playoff record.

Yes, yes ... it is so much better never to make it to the big game then to make it there and lose ...
