Return Of S&B
Javon Walker expected to be cut (Rotoworld) The Broncos haven't spoken to Javon Walker's agent since the end of the season. The Denver Post expects him to be cut or traded within a month.Impact: Walker isn't going to to take a paycut to stay in Denver. Considering the health of his knee, we seriously doubt that any other team will trade for him. Look for Walker to hit the open market. Fri Feb 8 10:52:00 a.m. ET 2008 *** Add him to the WR FA list...just two years ago the guy looked all-world in Green Bay

Randall
I hope he comes to Philly... So do I. Until the 2nd game of the season he was doing very well. I hope he does recover but that knee may need more surgery.

DMD
No matter where he goes, he's going to look great for three games and then get injured.
Big Country
No matter where he goes, he's going to look great for three games and then get injured. So you are saying he is worth drafting but to trade him quick.
BeeR
I agree with DMD except I dibs 2 games. Maybe look OK for 1-2 others.

He did last year but the year before he was pretty healthy. Why do you say 3 games?

I have him on one of my Dynasty leagues....I guess his value is at a all time low right now...maybe he'll get traded to New England
DMD
He did last year but the year before he was pretty healthy. Why do you say 3 games? In six years of playing, Walker has only had two seasons where he started all 16 games or had more than 26 catches. He did pretty well in 2004 and 2006 but he's not where I would want to put my money down.

Maybe he is the Fred Taylor of receivers.... explodes every other year then takes a year off for injuries, so, '08 could be big for Javon

isleseeya
if toomer retires , would not mind him opposite of Plax repeat , repeat , repeat ...ok thats a little ahead of myself but a healthy walker would be n upgrade to any offense
Chief Dick
No of course not, but 3 games isn't very many unless you know something we don't. Make sure and hold him to that next season. I fully expect a calling out thread from you to DMD if Walker plays more than 3 games. Edited February 8, 2008 by Chief Dick
Bronco Billy
For the third time here at the Huddle, I will post again: This is based upon a tirade that Javon Walker threw on December 31st about his role in the DEN offense. After his agent & Shanahan talked to Walker, Walker completely retracted the statements he made on January 9th. There are also cap issues involved in either trading or cutting Walker that would result in a large cap hit to DEN. While I certainly can not say with certainty that Walker won't be moved, since I'm not Shanahan, I can say that this was visited in DEN extensively a while ago and pretty much put to rest, based both upon the cap impact to DEN and upon Walker's public retraction of his initial statements. Bronco Billy
BTW - didn't it make anyone suspicious at all when the link provided by rotoworld to the Denver Post linked to material where Walker wasn't even mentioned?
Footballjoe
Maybe he could be the WR the Redskins are looking for, when he is injured he could fill in as head coach.

Good point. I'll demand a refund for everyone here if Walker plays 4 games.

They were probably referring to this story http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_7850208 but you are right, the link to the denver post that rotoworld provided just went to one of the paper's home pages. Randall
Yep. Note the date on your linked article. He did retract much of what he said later. Is there any news on more surgeries on his knee?
Avernus
So do I. Until the 2nd game of the season he was doing very well. I hope he does recover but that knee may need more surgery. why would you, being a Packers fan....want Walker to come to Philly...being that you think he still has something left... I personally think coming off his 2nd year from ACL surgery, he'll be fine...as will Kearse actually....but Kearse will be gone.. Walker was quite impressive coming off that injury as soon as he did...I don't see any reason he can't be in better shape this upcoming TC than he was even in October last year...
