49erAddict-08
On ESPN and NFL.com, it shows the opening game at 7pm ET. Is that really when the game kicks off or is that when NBC will start coverage? It seems really early to me. For those on the west coast, it would mean a 4pm start time. That doesn't make much sense. Big John
Start time. It was moved up so they can show the McCain acceptance speech afterward.

49erAddict-08
Start time. It was moved up so they can show the McCain acceptance speech afterward. That is lame. Can't people just change the channel if they really want to watch it? Now I have to think of a good work excuse to get out at 4:45 (mountain time), when the rest of my team will probably stay until 6:00. Any good ideas? Rovers
A west coaster complaining about the start time for a night game? Now, there is a switch... we east coasters are often still watching on Monday night WELL into Tuesday. One game.... and there are complaints... we have to put up with these late starts about 18 times every season.... While it sucks to have to stay up late to watch a game, I would much prefer a game starting at 8:30 pm than 4:00 pm. But then again, I'm somewhat of a night owl and don't mind staying up late. Randall
I can hardly wait for the acceptance speech! Maybe McCain and Palin will kill a Moose with their bare hands during the speech.
Capt. Stanky
I take a trip to Vegas at least once a year. It's awful having to wake up on a Sunday morning around 09:00 after a night of debauchery to catch the 1:00 pm EST games. I don't know if I could handle living on the West coast. Patriots
I think the Networks make the NFL change the time of the game. If the game was on NFL Network or ESPN they would have kept it at its original time.
kingfish247
Maybe McCain and Palin will kill a Moose with their bare hands during the speech. Only if they did that while dressed in suits made of polar bear skins THEN I might consider for a few seconds not watching the NFL opener but I'd probably just say, meh, and watch football.
