Big Ernie McCracken
don't get one at all. Not getting one is the best plan. Why help owners who don't follow other owners picks. It's a significant advantage knowing what positions other owners need to fill.

That's why you might consider creating a draft tracker for your own use during the draft. In a competitive league every pick can be critical and the ability to float players at key times can help maximize opportunities to grab value picks and just as important, is knowing when you can't float a player. There are still owners who only track thier own draft and as an owner who tracks everyone's draft, I feel I have a marked advantage and a big colorful draft board seems to level the field IMO Edited July 12, 2010 by Big Ernie McCracken

It seems to me that this makes it pretty much fool proof from mistakes.

So you should get the draft board so the commish can put up the picks in big fancy pictures...keep track yourself to catch his mistakes...and don't drink so you can take advantage of them. Oh I keep track myself and seldom ever drink. But the aftermath of the draft's mistakes usually takes alot of time to sort out.

The 13ers
I use DMD's method of tracking other teams picks. It works great! Using this site and DMD's book gives me a HUGE advantage on draft day. I laugh, to myself, at some of the silly picks people make, year in, year out. It's like taking candy from a bunch of babies!!

Pitbull739
Go with Draftkit.com, no need to get the jumbo one unless you got a lot of space or everyone is over 50. Try recruiting sticker chicks to do the heavy lifting of the stickers. Get the right ones and you won't even care if they put the stickers on upside down. flemingd
www.draftkit.com Agreed - 5 years running and it's well worth it. I have a spreadsheet I've been doing this with for about 12 years now but this is a great visual tool for those needing it. GAMEBALL is the code for returning customer discount. hooknladder
I think so too. For me, an important part of the draft is knowing what the teams drafting around me need and have wurd. ....-if your not keeping track of everyone else's draft either your not competitive or your league is weak. i cannot imagine bumbling thru a draft not knowing EXACTLY what every opponent is doing. supplying a draft board is doing everyone elses work for them. not a fan. I agree, it is so critical, especially inn the auction format, to know what position they need and money they have left.
Fantazzle
WOW! I can't imagine not tracking everyone else's team. It's one of the most crucial pieces to me when drafting. I'd feel lost if I didn't track everyone else teams. A great way to do it, that's free - only ofcourse you have access to a laptop on a draft day along with your other players.. Use Google Docs and create a shared spreadsheet between the league. Everyone can edit it themselves, add the players and no extra work needs to be done by anyone else. Been doing that the last few years for a couple leagues.
TBB
Was wanting to get one of those draft boards this year. Wondering if anyone had preferences on which kind is the best and where to order from. Tryt fandraft.com. The draft board is displayed on your computer and you can transfer it to your tv. Have used it the last 2 years and the league loves it. no getting up to put stickers up just punch it into the computer. And when your done the draft results can be exported to your league so you dont need to load any rosters. Puddy
Go with Draftkit.com, no need to get the jumbo one unless you got a lot of space or everyone is over 50. We stopped using one about 5 years ago because the draft takes longer. However, JUMBO is the only way to roll. Of course we had a pretty big room. Here's a pic from my draft the last year we used one. You can see the place is pretty big. These mofo's were slow too.
DCMartin
Been using FJ Fantasy sports free standing draft board for 3 years with no problems and they customize your labels (team names, divisions etc). Mom and pop company so if you order more than 1 for any reason they cut you some deals. Here is a picture of their jumbo which I highly recommend. http://www.fjfantasy.com/index.php?main_pa...age&pID=
Company of Heroes
With access to a laptop and a projector or a decent size TV, it is pretty easy to digitize your draft board using an excel spreadsheet. Here is the one I plan to use for this year. http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/8192/image1uuj.jpg The Top 200 or so Players are listed alphabetically by position at the bottom. When a player is selected, I just cut from the player list and paste to the draft board. Takes a little effort for me to manage during the draft, but not too bad. -Heroes
