chinatown dragons
With MJD off to a SLOOOOW start, is the rest of the season ranking of MJD at number based on his potential to break out and put up solid numbers? Jags are just a bad team.....! just thought he may have slid down a bit....
Company of Heroes
I think the ranking reflects overall trust in his ability. MJD has been productive despite being on a bad team in the past. While there is some cause for concern, I think he is due for a bounce back- likely this week at home v. Colts. The matchup should be very telling for his prospects for the remainder of the season. I used to get real excited about those rest of the season ranking. They are still very useful, but ultimately you need value the players based on their performance vs. matchups so far and determine who are likely to stay hot/cold and who are not likely to hold form considering future matchups, etc. Unless you can get a 1st round value for MJD in a trade, unloading him now is a sell low, which is never a good idea. If you don't think he will return to form. Wait for a decent/ above average game and send him sailing.

ajfalcone
If you need help at wr or qb and can land a stud for him, then pull the trigger. Otherwise stand pat and MJD will go off. His #5 is based on talent and studs eventually get theirs.

darin3
I can't believe, in any of this MJD-hating, that no one has come out and mentioned the fact that the Jags signed Trent Edwards. David Garrard is having a putrid start to the season Since Garrard's Week 1 solid showing, his QB rating is 50.8. Jack Del Rio has all but said there's gonna be a QB change. Either Garrard's game gets a boost from being on the hot seat, or Edwards comes in. I don't see how MJD's value can do anything but go up at this point. wildcat2334
well, Edwards and Garrard are about the same - They both stink A change to Edwards doesn't improve the Jags one bit
cre8tiff
Those ranking are driving me crazy, I'm holding Moreno like he's gold, while good RBs that are actually PLAYING are passing me by on the waiver wire.
lkirc
Edwards is known as "Mr. Check Down", while Garrard has been avoiding MJD in the passing game. I think a move to Edwards will not neccesarily help the Jags, it should help MJD.

j2v
If he does nothing this week and/or next he fall DRAMATICALLY. That's pretty accurate. The rankings obviously are going forward, and MoJo has always killed the Colts so this is a good time for him to get back in the saddle. And it's not like David Garrard hasn't been a bad QB in the past, though I do like the Edwards/check down speculation. Usually when backs are against the wall the plan is to give the ball to the best guy on your team, and without question that's Jones-Drew. So the potential is still there. But bottom line, MoJo does need to come out of his shell this week to hold a top 10 spot. 2V
wildcat2334
thanks Darin, errr Captain Obvious - I am well aware of the gawd-awfullnes that is Garrard and Edwards - if you are relying on Trent to supposedly increase the value of MJD you are in for a long season IMO

Captain Obvious says it can't get much worse, and a QB change - to a QB that is known to check down and throw to the RB - could signal an increase in value. Pope Flick
Edwards is known as "Mr. Check Down", while Garrard has been avoiding MJD in the passing game. I think a move to Edwards will not neccesarily help the Jags, it should help MJD. I don't see how 8 in the box will help MJD, which is all he'll see going forward, ESPECIALLY with a change at QB.
