montster
Easy question: What's the worst fantasy football trade you've ever made? Mine was almost exactly five years ago. I remember because we were on vacation in the Bahamas, around Halloween. There was free wi-fi by the pool, and I needed to submit my lineup before Sunday's games. I checked my email and got a trade offer: I give up Larry Fitzgerald and Larry Johnson for Chad Ochocinqo and Chester Taylor. Deal made sense because I would get Taylor to back up Jamal Lewis, who I already had, and he would get LJ to back up Priest Holmes, who he already had. I accepted. A few hours later, Priest went down with a season-ending injury and LJ went on to post something like 1500 yards and 16 TDs the rest of the year. Thinking of that trade still makes me sick. It was my first year in that league, which I've never won. I'm pretty sure my team was good enough that I would've coasted to the championship if I hadn't traded LJ. The lesson here is simple: NEVER TAKE A MAJOR VACATION DURING THE FANTASY FOOTBALL SEASON.
Brentastic
I'm usually pretty good with my trades, partly because I don't trade all that much. BUT, going into week 7 I realized my 3 starting WRs all had a bye in week 8 (DeSean, R. White, Nicks). This caused me to trade away Nicks for R. Moss. Nicks has 2 TDs during that week 7 (for the new team) while Moss does 8 pts. Bottom line - I shoulda taken the 0 from Nicks for that one week. Stupid. buddahj
It's really hard to narrow it down to just one.
Favre4ever
One year I recieved a trade offer in I think week 3 or 4 and it was I give David Terrell and get Brett Favre in return...Well needless to say I came out way ahead on that one and the owner blamed making the offer in a drunken stuper(BEARS FAN) Oh and Favre scored me over50 pts. that week and Terrell scored 15 for the year... Ed Hoyle
THREE. Surprising eh, for people who have followed me. BAD TRADE NUMBER ONE....NEVER drink at a "trade meeting". 2005 -- I got a bunch of early draft picks too which allowed me to get MJD. But, it allowed the other guy to win Back to Back Championships as he he had LT at the time. Rudi was playing well and LJ was sharing. Delhomme, Jake QB CAR - Gabriel, Doug WR OAK - Holcomb, Kelly QB BUF - Holt, Torry WR STL - Johnson, Larry RB KC - FOR Cooley, Chris TE WAS Culpepper, Daunte QB MIN - Johnson, Brad QB MIN - Johnson, Rudi RB CIN - Shipp, Marcel RB ARI - BAD TRADE TWO AND THREE (On those impulse days when guys offer draft picks just before the deadline.) 2008 MJD and Cotchery for LT and Addai 2009 Z. Miller & Randy Moss for K. Winslow and J. Harrison Edited November 5, 2010 by Ed Hoyle
driveby
Traded Arian Foster for Randy Moss. But just before Moss was waived I traded him and Best for Roddy White, so I got that goin' for me.
MustOfBeenDrunk
Traded (2) future 1st round picks in a dynasty for Dominick Davis the last year he played and it wasn't until last year that I was competitive in that league again. Took 1st. place last year but that trade stung big time

Easy n Dirty
Back in David Boston's breakout year - after one or two weeks of solid play from him, I decided to sell high and traded him for...Ron Dayne.
Gilm
If you remember Shaun Alexander got hurt one week and it looked really bad. Like high ankle/broken ankle. Wasn't a whole lot of info to be found and I sure as hell wasn't around the huddle. It was early in the season and decided to take a lowball offer of Kevan Barlow and Santana Moss for him. He played in 2-3 weeks and was the same he ever was. You know the others story...
tazinib1
I made my worst trade of my FF career this year. I don't know why I did it and I still find myself walking around late at night mumbling to myself trying to figure it out. It involved Chris Johnson....'nuff said. CardinalEmpire.com
Couple of years ago... I managed to draft some crazy running back depth which included a rookie by the name of Adrian Peterson. My WR's SUCKED (like D.J. Hackett and Bernard Berrian sucked), so I targeted the owner of TO for a trade. He wanted Rudi Johnson, my 1st-rounder that year, but I balked with it being so early in the season. I counter-offered that rookie RB, thinking about his injury issues and Chester Taylor in the backfield. Peterson went on to score 200+ points the rest of that season (missing two weeks, too!) while Rudi managed 67 the rest of the year.
Riffraff
Might not be my worst trade "ever" since I've blacked out so many from memory, but the worst in the last few years was trading QB Orton for RB Perry because I had Benson. Perry never played a down for me while Orton is still playing. Worst due to the 0% return on investment. Had another trade where I got WR Burress 2 days before he shot himself in the leg and went to jail, but other players were involved in the deal so I got a small return on investment. historymike
Yeppers - I traded for Priest Holmes in 2004 after Week 5, giving up Peyton Manning. I got about 1.5 games of monster stud production before Holmes went down with that season-ending hip injury. Manning, of course, went on that late season tear and rolled up 49 touchdowns and 4,557 yards. Makes me sick to even think about it: I probably could have won the FF Super Bowl with just Manning that year.
BrooklynCrew
I traded a 5th round pick next year in a keeper league for Tony Romo 48 hours before he was lost for the season (or lost for long enough to make holding him worthless). To keep him it would cost a 1st round pick next season. I am NOT keeping him (have Megatron or Gore to keep with my first round pick). So I dropped him later in the week (and he was grabbed by another team). Basically I gave up a 5th round pick for absolutely nothing. ThatDude
Traded Forte this year for Ronnie Brown and Roy Williams the week before Forte went for multiple TD's and a bunch of yards. Owner is competing with me for a playoff spot in the division and started running his mouth after Forte went off that week. In the end it's a wash for the trade as I dumped Roy and Brown is on the verge of getting dumped as well. The thing is he has no other choice but to play Forte each week. Jokes on him when he has to start him in the playoffs.
Capt. Stanky
Let me start by saying this was a deep keeper (keep 10 from year to year) where we started 2 QB's It was Maroney's rookie year and he was coming off a big week. It's so crazy to think of how he looked like a can't miss prospect early on in his career. It just so happened that I picked up Tony Romo after week one that year. Bledsoe was still the starter at the time, but he was playing badly and I felt Romo would be starting soon. Romo was going to get his shot, so I targeted the Beldsoe owner. I sent him the following offer: I give Romo. Westbrook and RMoss (Oak) I get Maroney, TO and some throw in QB Westbrook, at the time, was nothing more than an explosive injury waiting to happen. It was really before he totally went nuclear for a few years. With Romo I didn't realize what I had. Maroney remained on my team for a couple of seasons just waiting for him to step up, but it never happened. Moss went onto NE to set records. TO was still decent, but not what Moss ended up being. I can't even remember the QB I got in return. I think it might have been Collins back when he was in Oak. Bad trade any way you look at it. Company of Heroes
Maybe giving Arian Foster and Brandon Lloyd for Mendenhall and Brandon Marshall. Verdict is still out, but I miss Foster already.
