gilthorp
Strange move for both of them...but exciting for Colts fans.
CaptainHook
Now the Colts need some DEFENSE!
Shorttynaz
I don't think it was a strange move. Both have been talked about for a while. AJ was destined to play for the Colts - they'll give him a lot of PT and he gets to play against his former team twice a year. Frank Gore - I'm stoked about this move! It was talked about a week an a half ago - then reported he as going to Philly. Glad he's a Colt!! Next up - SIGN DAN WILLIAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gilthorp
Strange move as their offense is fine with one of them...I would save money and try keeping NE from dropping 50 on them.
Dolphin_Akie
Now the Colts need some DEFENSE! That would be my concern at this point after missing on Suh!
CaptainHook
Trent Cole to the Colts as well.
CaptainHook
That would be my concern at this point after missing on Suh! I don't think they could afford him. Not at what Miami was offering. And I doubt he wanted to go to a 3-4 team.
Dolphin_Akie
I don't think they could afford him. Not at what Miami was offering. And I doubt he wanted to go to a 3-4 team. Thats understandable. Adding Trent Cole should help but think the Colts need to add some talent to the defensive front.
CaptainHook
Nick Fairley perhaps . . .
DMD
As great as that sounds, it's likely only to favor the Colts for one year with two "end of career" players that they have to hope remain healthy. If they can be healthy all year they will help for sure. But I bet neither has as big a role as they did in the past, particularly Johnson who clearly becomes the #2 behind T.Y. Hilton. CaptainHook
I'm sure the deals are structured in a way the Colts can get away from them in one or two years. That's how Landry and Jean-Francois' deals were built.

Shorttynaz
Andre Johnson left the Colts complex with no deal!! Read this morning that the Patriots are throwing the kitchen sink at him. The Cowboys and the Seahawks want a chance to make him a sales pitch as well. Yesterday people close to AJ said he was going to be a Colt - today I read it could take weeks before he decides. There's rumored to be at least 8 teams all making him substantial offers. Would LOVE to see him as a member of the Colts - it makes the best sense (although this is coming from a Colts fan) - gets to play in the same division, get to stick it to your old team twice a year - got one hell of a QB chuckin taters your way. That being said, I hope the Colts don't hold out and reserve that cap space in hopes of signing him. Moncrief is young but showed a lot of promise last year. They need a defensive makeover more than they need a WR. Their problem is not offense - it's keeping the Pats from putting up a 50 spot on them - or - a 40 spot if they're playing with legal balls! CaptainHook
If he wants more than a three year deal, the Colts should pass.
CaptainHook
I guess Andre decided after he left. Now I hear a deal is done!

CaptainHook
$35 million Way too long and way too much money. I'm sure they structured it in a way that they can get away from it in a couple years.
Shorttynaz
Too long of a deal - but it's the team that makes the most sense. You're playing 6 games a year against teams you know very well - and two of those games are against the team who told you "see ya". It's good to see that he came to his senses before the Colts pulled their offer - hopefully it's a deal they can get out of in 2 or 3 years... AJ was destined to play for the Colts - they'll give him a lot of Pickle Tickles and he gets to play against his former team twice a year. How could anyone turn down that offer?
