SheikYerbuti
No, not because we got K Rod. No, not because we got JJ Putz. Aaron Heilman is no longer a Met.
darin3
Don't get it. Added the premier closer in today's game and also made a deal for another stud closer? With Wagner available in a year? Doesn't look like you had to give up much for Putz, but what are you doing with him? Is a setup guy really that important? Hmm, guess so, since y'all blew about 10 wins for Santana. Still, weird. Sgt Ryan
Wagner is done in NY. Putz and Krod are a nice 1-2 punch in the 8th and 9th and they shouldnt lose games they lead heading into the 8th any longer. Nice fiscal responsibity trading for one and getting the other at a reasonable price in todays market.
tazinib1
I doubt the Mets can afford Putz after the 09 season as he's slated to make $5.5 million this year and if the Mets pick up his option for 2010, thats a $9.1 million setup man. Ouch.

Makes great sense to me. Mets middle relief was putrid last year. What good is krod if the game gets blow before he gets a chance to close it. bushwacked
Putz had one great year in 2007 and was only 15 out of 23 saves last year for the M's. His fastball topped out numerous times last year in the low 90's.

Putz should be a pretty solid setup guy. I bet Santana was happy to see the K-Rod signing and maybe did a backflip or two after they landed Putz as well. godtomsatan
Putz has been at times kind of awesome, but really was not in '08. When he first came up and last year, his nickname in my circles was Putz "them in the seats". And I wasn't talking about fans.
SLAYER
Personally I didn't think anyday was a great day to be a Met fan.

ebartender
Mets fans can have all the fun they want in the off season and during the regular season. The Phillie's fans will have fun in the playoffs.

i_am_the_swammi
Oh, we've had a few. The fact that the Buckner pic is in black-n-white says it all got anything from this millenium?
SheikYerbuti
The fact that the Buckner pic is in black-n-white says it all got anything from this millenium? One win in any sport in 30 years and talking smack? Wow. Just wow.
