stevegrab
Interesting, is this an actual real signing that takes up a spot on the team preventing them from signing a player that will actually go through camp and everything? Just trying to understand if they did this for real and sacrificed having another player, or if it is simply a nice gesture and PR move. Class move by Schiano and the Bucs.

irish
Legrand lives in my development about 5 doors down. I haven't seen him in awhile but I used to see him being driven around in a silver van, that has been modified to fit his wheelchair, all the time. I've seen him being loaded into the van on a couple occasions.
flemingd
Interesting, is this an actual real signing that takes up a spot on the team preventing them from signing a player that will actually go through camp and everything? For now, yes. Just trying to understand if they did this for real and sacrificed having another player, or if it is simply a nice gesture and PR move. My guess is they place him on some type of reserve list - retired, non-football injury, etc. Rosters were expanded this year to 90 (from 80) so those last 10 spots are mostly camp bodies to give reps to so the starting QB's arm doesn't fall off so until the 90th spot is needed they can just chill. Class move, letting the man actually realize his dream, if only in spirit. I hope they do more with this - bring him in as a motivational, leadership, inspirational type of influence. God knows that franchise needs it, and it would be a great reward for a kid that got catastrophically screwed yet didn't let it destroy him.
