no one
I heard a report on ESPN Radio this morning that Marv is set to come back to the Bills as their head coach. "Marv Levy, the winningest coach in Bills' history, recorded a 112-70 regular season record and was 11-8 in the playoffs during his 11½ seasons with the Bills. He was named NFL Coach of the Year in 1988 and AFC Coach of the Year in 1988, 1993, and 1995. Levy also coached in the CFL, where he won two Grey Cup championships. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001." Edited January 4, 2006 by no one

Azazello1313
the espn article says this... Former Buffalo Bills coach Marv Levy, 80, will return to the team to oversee the football operation

nhoops
I heard he was taking over Donahoe's job, not HC. I think he's like 81! I'm sure he's up to spead on all potential FA and potential draft pics......This makes no sense IMO....

no one
He will be a front office guy at the least but they said he is considering the HC spot as well.
Piranha
No they will hire him as a consultant to the team... helping to make decisions, things of that nature. All due respect to Marv, but the man is 80, he's too old to start coaching again, or pick up GM duties.
cheezhed
Isn't he like... 90 or something? 1247491 He and Joe Paterno have the same pilates instructor!!
Randall
He and Joe Paterno have the same pilates instructor!! 1247571 Larry Johnson, asked if Joe Paterno should retire, said he should never retire. He doies great things for the school and community and I agree. I heard Levy would aid Donahoe, not be HC.

skylive5
Whew.... consultant I can probably see.... HC not a chance. One has to admit that Levy is/was football savy. I am sure he will have good things to offer. Just not at the HC position.
Azazello1313
whatever capacity, i think it's a good move for the bills. IMO there will always be a place in the league for people like marv levy and joe gibbs.

Skilly
The more I think about this, the more I don't like it. I don't think that bringing back Marv will improve the Bills. What you are basically telling your head coach is this: "Look, you keep on coaching, and Marv will let you know what you are doing wrong." Is Marv going to be on the road scouting players? No. What capacity could he possibly be filling, except that of a grandfather figure who reminds the Bills of their glory days? Hey, knock yourself out Bills. Hope that works for you. whitem0nkey
Well marv levy already started putting his stamp on the bills. Next year at training camp there will be 2 practices, with a 2 hour nap in between.
whitem0nkey
I do like marv levy, I got to hear a lot of him on the radio here in Chicago. I like his football philosophies. I like how his bills in the superbowl days, had 4 run audibles, and 4 pass audibles. they did not have a lot of audibles, but the team knew those plays in and out and they practiced them all the time. And when it came to game time they executed them to a tee.

Buffalo Wings
The rumblings that I'm hearing is that Levy wants to be coach and he is trying to talk Wilson into letting him. That is just my gut feeling. There is no substatiated link that states that. We shall see what happens. I would prefer that they get someone else and let Levy mentor the guy. Brewer
Sounds like coaching by committe 1265425 Interesting concept. Kind of like RBBC. Keep a few mediocre coaches, of which there are plenty, on the payroll and rotate them in and out.
