Sgt. Ryan
The best teams are still left. That's why they play the game momo. I can't believe you work for the huddle. 1272021

Sgt. Ryan
Lets just say the best team doesnt always win. If you think so, then you have no clue about football. The best team on that day, isnt necessarily the best team. Are you telling me Dallas was a better team than washington when the Pokes went 1-15 and Washington won the Super Bowl. Or how bout New Orleans is better than Carolina this yr. They beat the Panthers. Man you got alot to learn.
Bengal Mania
Sorry, I'm just jumping in here, didn't read the previous pages. What's the discussion about? Is football still being played? I thought the season ended with the "pop" of an ACL. What is it you all are still talking about?

Sgt. Ryan
Big difference between losing in the regular season and losing in the playoffs. BIG DIFFERENCE. 1272075 NO actually there is not. Indy was the best team a month ago, and the layoff and distractions killed them. You can not convince me if that game went into OT, Pitt comes away with a W. Dallas took Carolina behind the woodshed who needed the win desperately to get into the playoffs, and lucked out other teams lost in front of them for them to get in. Now they are hot, and on a roll. That doesnt mean dallas is better than Carolina. And it certainly doesnt mean Pitt is better than Indy. On that particular day they may have been, but that clueless tool said the best team always wins. Hes mistaken. Edited January 17, 2006 by Sgt. Hugh 0ne
I can't believe you work for the huddle. 1272021 Why? Do you read his IDP information? It's top notch. Sarge is an antagonist, and a royal pain in the ass, but his IDP info is as good as it gets.

Remember that argument last year? If you recall I was right........ lil' Q did lose his starting job! Moving on...... the reason the NFL is the greatest sport on the planet is because it's the ultimate team sport. One or two or three superstars cannot carry a team like in basketball, baseball or even college football. So again, the best team didn't win this weekend. The colts were the best team until week 13, now they're not. If you want champions to be determined by their regular season success, then I suggest you stick with following college football and leave the NFL for the real football fans. Men In Tights
Not that this really fits in here, but... I heard on a local morning show, their sports guy, bring up an interesting point. "Vanderjagt missed that FG on purpose to get back at the cry baby Peyton for his idiot kicker remark years back". If you think about it the point doesn't seem that far fetched. Considering how good Vanderjagt is and by how much he missed that FG, it is something that makes you go "HMMMMM".

Gonkis
I can't wait to see someone's sig line say "I'm OWNED by so-and-so." for 6 months. All 20 people who stay at the huddle during the offseason will get a good laugh.
The Vatican Hitsquad
so you still wanna call the colts the best team in football after sunday? the steelers were the better team on that field. it wasn't even close. you spend more time reading newspapers than watching football games if you believe otherwise. 1271091 Absolutely right. If you read the media, and listen to too much moving mouths on sports shows, you also thougth the Patriots were unstopable going into Denver soley because in seasons prior to this, they hadn't lost a playoff game in years. Despite Denver owning them earlier this year. And if you listen to them now, the same people calling the Colts possibly the best team ever a week ago are now saying the team should be broken up. Brentastic
Keep talking dude, at least Im trying to be funny. 1272171 I think it's taking every bit of energy for you not to snap. I'm just discussing why you're wrong. That's it. The same reason Peyton Manning is not to be blamed for losing playoff games is the same reason S. Smith cannot be credited for winning playoff games. NFL is the ULTIMATE TEAM SPORT. Without the O line doing their job or ST or defense or the QB etc..... teams would not win. So grits is wrong just like you here. Just remember this.... I'm much smarter than you and I'm always right.
