peepinmofo
http://www.theredzone.org/news/showarticle...?ArticleID=4889 I know it depends on where he lands, but is he at all a potential #1 WR? What teams need a WR in a bad way?

peepinmofo
Not much to pick from this year, huh? Hey man, for what its worth, you guys have a potential stud in Martin Nance. When he was on the Bills PS, there was a lot of talk about him. Im not sure why they cut him, but hes one of my sleeper picks for next year. Bronco Billy
Any team that is counting on Lelie to be a #1 WR in the NFL, whether it's a NFL team or a FF team, is a team that is destined to finish well out of the playoffs. Lelie is as 1-dimensional a WR as there is in the NFL. That doesn't mean he doesn't have value to a team - there is a huge benefit to an offense to be capable of legitimately stretching the field vertically. But the guy won't ever put up #1 numbers simply because he's afraid to consistently complete the short to mid-range routes.
xMRogers
To answer the question - Lelie is the Jerry Porter/Peerless Price (and a billion other guys) of this year - guy that puts up some good games here and there as a 2/3, but will never be a 1. I agree with that 100%, but I was just curious if anyone thinks he has potential to be a #1 somewhere. Would any teams take another chance on him to do so? I think going to ATL, they might have had those thoughts at 1st.... Maybe not though.

I think the same things were said about Stallworth last year. Aside from injuries, he showed that he could indeed be a #1 when given the chance. I'm not saying Lelie is this year's Stallworth, but until a player is put in a position to exceed (and receiving passes from Plummer and Vick has NOT given Lelie a chance to succeed), you just never know. After all, Jabar Gaffney was ridiculed by many in the summer as a chump who would not help a team....had NE won last week, he arguably may have been this year's playoff MVP.
