i_am_the_swammi Posted August 17, 2007 Share Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) Not sure I agree...if KC knows they are going to be brutal anyway, why overpay for an RB that isn't going to make that much of a diffrence? If they pay a ridiculous amount to LJ, byt the time the team is a contender (2-3 years), LJ will be 31, and on the cusp of his downside. If I were them , I'd let LJ walk/trade him, and continue to rebuild, knowing that you can draft a stud RB next year with a high pick, or pay a free agent RB in 2-3 years when the team is actually ready to compete. Belushi Posted August 17, 2007 Share Posted August 17, 2007 As bad as they looked, no team is going to tank it before the season starts. I'm sure Herm still believes they can win this year. Hell, they made the playoffs last year. And I think they know that they're not going to win without LJ. I think something will get done before the season starts. LJ knows he's only got a few productive seasons left. If he doesn't take the deal the Chiefs are offering and sits out this year, he's not going to get much next year anyway.
