Randall
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons announced the signing of defensive tackle Remi Ayodele, offensive lineman D’Anthony Batiste and running back Artose Pinner Monday afternoon. The team waived linebacker Jordan Beck and running back Jason Snelling. The Falcons also established a seven-player practice squad consisting of quarterback Casey Bramlet, defensive back Brent Grimes, wide receivers Eric Weems and Todd Watkins, offensive lineman Kurt Quarterman, linebacker Travis Williams and tight end George Cooper. Ayodele, 6-2, 300 pounds, was signed to the Dallas Cowboys practice squad last season and was allocated to the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europa in the spring. He recorded 15 tackles, one sack and one pass defensed with the Galaxy. He was originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the New England Patriots in 2006. As a senior at the University of Oklahoma, Ayodele started six games and finished with 11 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery. Batiste, 6-4, 318 pounds, was inactive for nine games last season with the Carolina Panthers. He began the 2006 season with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League and also competed with the Bossier City Battlewings of af2 in 2004. Pinner, 5-10, 232 pounds, comes with the most pro experience. He logged 43 carries for 190 yards and three touchdowns last season with the Minnesota Vikings. He spent the 2003-2005 seasons with Detroit after being selected by the team in the fourth-round (99th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft. For his career, Pinner has 812 rushing yards and eight scores. He has appeared in 40 games as a professional. Beck spent two seasons with the Falcons after being selected in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Following a season on the injured reserve list, Beck finished second on the team with 13 special teams tackles last year. Snelling joined the team as a seventh-round draft pick out of Virginia. broncosn05
IMO no fantasy value. With Dunn and Norwood, Petrino doesn't need anything else.

Randall
....like the '07 Packers? 05 Packers and 04 Panthers mostly. They were down to the 4th and 5th RB's. Do far this year's Packers just have nagging injuries(except for Herron) but it isn't a good way to start the year.
Bronco Billy
If Petrino thinks Pinner is an upgrade over anything superior to a dog turd, ATL fans need to be very worried. Hard to believe ATL cut Snelling loose after the nice preseason that he had.

Big Score 1
Pinner was picked up so the Falcons could pick his brain about their first opponent, the Vikings. Nothing more nothing less. He'll be probably be waved after that game.
polksalet
Did I make a mistake by dropping the venerable Ovie Mughelli for Pinner?
Big Score 1
Did I make a mistake by dropping the venerable Ovie Mughelli for Pinner? Probably. Mughelli is going to be Petrino's pounder & if that's the kind of RB you wanted when you picked Mughelli, you still want him.

Big Score 1
The NFL should fine the Falcons if they cut him after week one...that would be obvious cheating... News flash. Happens all the time. At least the Falcons are going to end paying him at least one game check. The Jets have had Caldwell in for a visit to pick his brains & so far haven't even had the decency to go ahead & pick him up.
