Not sure when the tradition ended, but Da Bears would play the Cards every preseason in a benefit game @ Soldier Field.....YES Soldier Field! In those days it held ~100,000 people and was a terrible place to watch a game. You actually got slivers from the benches when you slid down on them. We used to go there in the summer to watch stock car races and demo derbies! I think the Bears won, but that was the year they beat NY Giants for the Championship. ~4 Ints, IIRC, from Y. A.
