The first NFL game you ever attended.

Due to the current state of affairs here in Atlanta I was offered and accepted tickets to the game on Sunday and will be taking my son to his first NFL game. The bad news, it's Falcons v/s 49ers. The good news is that at 3, he's probably not going to remember anything other than getting popcorn.

I think I must have been 12 or so the first time I went to a game and it was with my grandfather at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium and I'm pretty sure it was against the 49ers as well and the Falcons lost.... It was the coolest thing I had ever done.

Anyone have fond memories of their first game?

1973, I was 6.

My big sister and I were walking home from church and someone handed her a couple of tickets for the Packer game that day.

Tickets were on a upper row in the end zone. Against the then St Louis Cardinals and the Packers won that game.

Yeah, I was in grade school and my dad took me to a Niners game at Candle Stick. Don't remember anything about the game itself. Gorged myself on polish dog and those Carnation malts, though. And I remember my dad coming to blows with the two drunken A-holes behind us who kept "accidentally" spilling beer down the back of his neck after he asked them to quit cussing. I guess they figured he wouldn't fight because he had a little kid with him. They were sadly mistaken.

Ashamedly, It was late in life, having no pro team in CT.

In 1998 I saw Scott Zolak lead the Patriots to a 24-21 victory over SF at the biggest hole of crap on the planet, old Foxboro stadium. I remember sitting on frozen concrete and waiting 25 minutes to take a piss. That place sucked so much ass.

So he didn't fight then? :D

My bad. I meant to say I guess they assumed he wouldN'T fight because he had a kid with them, but they were mistaken. It was the first time I saw someone who was so drunk they could barely stand up try to fight (which was both funny and sad at the same time). It was also the first time I saw my dad go primal on someone.

Ah, football.

1978, Met Stadium. Monday Night Football. Vikes vs the Denver Broncos. Fred Cox kicked 4 FGs, the last one in overtime to win the game.

Was invited by a buddy of mine whose family had season tickets. We rode up to the game with his older brother and his friend. We were not yet old enough to legally go into a bar. They stopped at a bar on the way there, while we were pretty psyched to go in and have a beer, the one thing they did not tell us, was that it was a strip bar we were going into. Two steps in the door were were like :D and then :D .

Good times, Good times.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys in December1973, Don Coryell's first year, I was 10 years old. Cold as Hell. For a while when I was a teenager, the football Cardinals was about all my Dad and I could talk about without arguing. Those memories are the reason I'm a Rams season ticket holder and take my boys regularly. How's that for sappy?

Pretty good for sappy. :D

You sure you're not getting City Slickers and your life mixed up?

My Dad is English, and therefore learned American football at the same time I did. In our living room on Sundays. That was our sappy bonding.

I spent many years overseas. I didn't make it to a game till the early 90's. Bears game. Don't recall much about it except it was a long way down to the pitch...err..I mean field, from our seats.

It was January 10, 1982 and the San Francisco 49rs beat the Dallas Cowboys when Dwight Clark caught the game winning touchdown pass with 51 seconds left in the NFC Championship game.

Not really. It was a 1990 preseason game at the Big Sombrero in Tampa. The Bucs and the Rams. But to me, it was the greatest thing I'd ever seen.

I don't know if it was my first (can't remember that far back) but my uncle took us to a Lions game in 1966. I think it was against the Packers. We were sitting in the endzone and the Lions' Garo Yepremian was getting ready to attempt a FG. Back in the old days there were no nets. So i ran to the spot i thought it would go and i caught the FG :D It was a massive fight :D but i hung on came away with the ball. I had to guard that thing for the rest of the game as people were constantly trying to get it away from me. Getting the ball wasn't the best part though. As we were leaving the stadium, we were across the street from the old Lindell AC bar, it was where all the atheletes hung out. I hear this guy yelling at me from across the street to throw him the ball. I just ignored him at first but my uncle asked me if i knew who that was yelling at me. I said i didn't know and i wasn't giving up that ball. He said that's Norm Cash (1st Baseman of the Tigers) I was awestruck as Al Kaline and Cash were two of my favorite ballplayers. So i heaved the ball across 4 lanes of traffic and he made a nice catch. We crossed over to the other side of the street and i got 1 of my childhood heroes to autograph the ball. It's a boyhood sports memory i'll never forget.

Panther’s inaugural season opener at Death Valley, Clemson.

Many ticket holders did not receive tickets prior to the inaugural game and were instructed to get our seasons tickets at Will Call. My cousin, who works at Clemson, and I waited in line to find out yet again no tickets ready, and no substitutes providedhttp://forums.thehuddle.com/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif We quickly found the Panther hospitality tent where they directed us to another linehttp://forums.thehuddle.com/style_emoticons/default/g-bash.gif. My cousin in a medium low/loud voice said something, tactfully of course, but emphasized his point with one small mild cuss word. A front line front office person hoped over a his hospitality table, put his best hospitable foot forward and escorted us to a box called The Panther Den.http://forums.thehuddle.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif Great glassed fronted box, lounge chairs, ceiling fans, TV’s, carved meat buffet etc.. My cousin and I had a great first game, and as it turned out a great year in the box. The Panthers made even a better year of it that year, they had a great first season.

1967, I was 7. Lived in Chicago and my dad took me to see the Bears. No clue who they were playing. But, I remember that they used to play at Wrigley Field then. I kept worrying that players would hit the brick outfield wall. I also remember that their QB was Jack Concannon...he seemed to spend the entire game running for his life. The only other thing I remember was that it was cold and the hot chocolate was, well, hot.

Took my son to his first game this season. Miami vs Oakland. He loved throwing the ball around at the tailgate and the hotdogs. He was a bit overwhelmed by the crowds but he really got a kick out of cheering for touchdowns.

My first game wasnt until I was older. The unveiling of the "FedEx Field" name change from Jack Kent Cooke stadium. I think it was Washington vs New York. It was almost impossible to get tix @ RFK.

My dad took me to a Bears-Packers game at Soldier Field when I was 12. I was fascinated by the action on the field and the crowd noise. I've been a fan of the NFL ever since!!
