jaxfactor
A mock scenario, for example. Baltimore has the 8th pick and want Matt Ryan. Another team calls the Ravens and states that they want to move up to take another player they have their eyes on. They make the deal and the other team gets the #8 pick and screws the Ravens over by taking Matt Ryan. They're swapping places in the draft so is the trade contingent upon someone's word? Chief Dick
That is a very good question.

This doesn't happen for the main reason that teams don't want to burn bridges with other organizations. Sure everyone is competing with everyone, but it's hard to make trades to improve your team if no one will take you seriously. As far as we know anyways Edited April 26, 2008 by kpholmes
T-Scorp
Baltimore screwed MN over when the dinked around confirming a deal with the Vikings causing the infamous not getting our pick in on time.

That's right and now they don't get their QB this year. It always comes back.

As far as we know anyways That's what I would think as well. There's being competitive and being vinegary fresh. You don't want to get a reputation for being the latter or you're going to get blackballed by the other teams and never be able to get deals done.
