This is for week #7, all the games from May 12th - May 18th

We had no winner last week!

Thanks to Big John, I am able to run a weekly MLB Home Run contest from now until the end of the summer (season.) This has been put in the Tailgate because the "Non-Football" forum is ghosttown

Here's how it works: You pick one player each week, that's it, one MLB Player. You are attempting to pick the player that will lead the MLB that week in homeruns. Every week, we start over, and everyone chooses a new player.

So, for example, the first week you chose Carlos Lee. The second week you chose David Ortiz. The third week you chose A-Rod. The 4th week you chose A-Rod Again.....etc.....

Each week you can pick a brand new player. The week goes from Monday - Sunday. If the player you picked led the MLB in homeruns that week, you get 1 point in the standings! The Huddler with the most points at the end of the regular season wins!

Rules:

1. You can only pick one player per week. Any huddler that makes multiple picks in a week will receive zero points. The week runs from Monday - Sunday.

2. None of your posts can be "edited". Any posts that show that they were "edited", will not be counted.

3. If two or more MLB players had the same amount of HR's that week, all players recieve the 1 point.

4. You can pick the same person mulitple times. If you wanted to, you could pick Ryan Howard 23 straight times.

5. What do you win? Winner will take home a brand new DVD of their choice.

6. A new thread will be started by me for each week. Please do not post Week #4's choice in Week #3's thread (for example)

7. Each "new week" thread will be cut off at Midnight, Sunday night.

8. Multiple Huddlers can chose the same player (Example: 4 people chose Albert Pujols)

WINNERS:

Week 1: Nobody

Week 2: Nobody

Week 3: I_am_the_swammi (Chase Utley 5 HR)

Week 4: Nobody

Week 5: Nobody

Week 6: Nobody

Week 7: Nobody

Best of luck to all!

All right everyone, only one winner after 5 weeks, lets liven it up. From here on out, you can pick 2 players each week!

:D

Rule changes in the middle of a contest are kinda questionable (the same way rule changes in the middle of a FF season would not be supported). Only one correct guess thus far is lame, but it shows you how difficult it is. Giving other participants twice the chance to catch the leader? if no one had been leading, then changing the rule would be fine, but....just my  as the leader.

that being said....

Chase Utley and Ryan Howard, each at home for 6 games.

if you opt to go back and make it a one-entry pool, then Utley would be the choice.

I am the swammi, you are deff. right man.

I guess I was just thinking "dang, nobody can guess any right"

I completly side with you man. I myself would be upset at any rule changes during ANY contest, no matter the outcome or prize.

Thanks dude for bringing this to my attention, sometimes you just need someone else's perspective

Not to nit-pick or anything, but the Soriano pick was made Monday night. The rules clearly state that the cutoff for the week is Sunday at midnight.

Thank you for pointing that out, I did it quick from work. Not to mention that Soriano had already had a HR in his own game which was played that night. Sorry Soldja, them is da rules.

I posted that Monday night prior to the Cubs game. I wouldn't post after he hit a HR, but i was out of town all week. The CUBS game had not started when i posted that but i know the rules. Just to clear it up though i posted it before the cubs game monday night, NOT after he had hit a HR
