Savage Beatings
Minnesota still has Sunday bans on liquor sales. I've never really understood why.
Atlanta Cracker
as both Alabama and Georgia came close to passing bills that would legalize Sunday sales, :
TheShiznit
In Illinois, I think you still cannot buy it till like 11AM or something like that. Maybe it is just a county thing...but I am pretty sure it is a state deal.
Bier Meister
i used to love my last minute buying on football sundays in california.... sometimes hard to deal with due to my work hours on saturdays here in colorado... will be nice to be able to take care of it again on sundays Edited July 1, 2008 by Bier Meister

loaf
some stores here still don't have a sunday license. must be exhorbitant. Those that do can't sell wine until 1 PM. No state stores are open on Sundays.
cre8tiff
I dispute that artilcle. No liquor merchant lost money on Blue-Sundays, in fact, they saved money by not having to be open. That's the concensus of many off-premise merchants. It's good for consumers, but not liquor stores. And that lady who was working on Sunday... go enjoy life with friends or family, g-zus. ironic. Azazello1313
No liquor merchant lost money on Blue-Sundays, in fact, they saved money by not having to be open. That's the concensus of many off-premise merchants. their organized interests apparently feel otherwise, given the recent groundswell of lobbying efforts detailed in the article. I can see how it would help their sales for sure. there has been many a sunday when I realized I was out of beer and didn't hit the liquor store on saturday, so I sat around watching football and drinking iced tea. you know who it will probably hurt, at least in CO, are the supermarkets and such who have been allowed to sell 3.2 beer on sundays. I'd be willing to bet that half of these places' beer sales are on sunday, and that will probably change.
