wiegie
So, I am grading essays that my Comparative Economics Systems students have written and I am learning a lot. For instance, I now know that: 1) Africa is a nation 2) Daily per-capita caloric intake in Africa is 70 3) European nations have had more ethnically diverse leaders than the U.S. has had (as evidenced by the fact that "the last king of Scotland was black") (OK, so I will say that most of the essays are pretty good, but I thought you might get a laugh out of the above comments.) What level is this? I'm assuming 200 or so, like Macro?
TimC
Which makes more economic sense? The money we blindly send to Africa that gets taken by the warlords or simply supplying moving vans to ship the people to where the food is?
wiegie
What level is this? westvirginia
300 level As I said, most of the essays are really good, but these comments just caused me to crack up (especially the king of scotland one). So there is a college junior out there that thinks, in the country of Africa, every person eats seventy calories a year.
Big Country
So there is a college junior out there that thinks, in the country of Africa, every person eats seventy calories a year. He is saying they eat 25,550 calories per year (70*365=25,550) as he is saying it is the DAILY intake, not annual.
Double Agent
He is saying they eat 25,550 calories per year (70*365=25,550) as he is saying it is the DAILY intake, not annual. I think Westy is in his class.
Double Agent
Didn't we try that a couple hundred years ago? I don't think that worked out too well. The 1802 cargo van was my favorite model.

OK, maybe I'm as dumb as that junior. I thought per capita was per person per year. :duh:
