Bucs76
If the trade deadline has passed, and two team log onto the website and basically make a "trade" through the waiver wire (after the waiver period ends), is that collusion? Big John
That is indeed collusion if I read that correctly. 2 teams making waiver wire moves next to each other (I assumed that is what happened) to circumvent the trading deadline rule. DMD
If the trade deadline has passed, and two team log onto the website and basically make a "trade" through the waiver wire (after the waiver period ends), is that collusion? If it happened after the waiver wire period ended then it would be illegal regardless. Leagues should never allow a team to drop a player and have that player immediately available to be taken for this exact reason. If I was commish, I would reverse it. If I was a team owner, I would call for a reversal.
Savage Beatings
If the rest of the league had an equal opportunity to pick up the players that were placed on waivers, then it should probably stand, but I can see how this could possibly be a problem. As long as the two teams didn't do anything to circumvent the waiver process, then I'm not sure what you could do. Players can be dropped and picked up. Most leagues have rules that give you a certain waiver wire order each week. If they took the risk to drop someone based upon teh assumption that someone else would still be available when their pick came up, then I think they paid the price by taking the risk that someone else could have mucked things up for them. Randall
If you colluded to do it, if it was planned to subvert trade rules, then it is collusion. No question.
John Crapper
Yes, I believe it is collusion. If there is a trade deadline rule in place, it must be there for a reason. Dodging around on the waiver wire for 2 people to switch players is cheesy and it's probably pretty obvious when it happens. Proving collusion is always a pain. loaf
I agree with all the above. Why is this allowed? Why is a player immediately available after being dropped? Is this a yahoo league?
Grits and Shins
I'm not quite sure how it happened if both the waiver period and the trade dead line had passed?
MikesVikes
Put in a rule that you can't pick up a recently dropped player for 24 hours and you won't have the problem.

tazinib1
All you need to do is look at the time stamp of the transactions. If they happened within minutes of each other, case closed. Boot them both.
MikesVikes
There's no way that can hold up if it's after waivers end. How can they explain otherwise?
