Savage Beatings
Not sure you could call them a one hit wonder. They have had several if I disremember correctly. Oh maybe so... that's the only song by them that I recall.
godtomsatan
Gerry Rafferty also had this: Right Down the Line Thank you for acknowledging this. Not to mention he's the guy singing and playing guitar.
Kid Cid
So now that we've got the loving, sensitive portion of our program out of the way, how about Rock and Roll Hoochie-Coo by Rick Derringer?
godtomsatan
Oh maybe so... that's the only song by them that I recall. They had another song that was a minor hit off that record, but Vernon Reid is a virtuoso guitar player that has been doing freestyle fusion music ever since that band (and even before). godtomsatan
Um, NOT a hit. Still a good song though. Actually, I thought that was the hit, ah well.....I read somewhere that the Aldo Nova dude was one of the top paid jingle writers in the ad business during the 90s. 'canes2004
Another one that just came to me from my youth. Planet P Project Early Mtv stuff here. Great song though.
'canes2004
Man, I keep thinking of these. "Wait For You" Bonham This is the late great John Bonhams' son Jason's band. Easy to hear what they were shooting for here but still a good tune. Singer just recently passed away from some sort of illness.
BeeR
um "99 balloons" and "puttin on the ritz" are pop, hardly rock. seriously lame pop to boot. Are we talkin' Rock 'n' Roll or Rock? Big difference in time frame and genre. I'm impressed. Few get this. Don McLean - American Pie Don't count him either, although again depends what you mean by "hit." He had "Starry starry night" and "Cryin" Looking Glass was a good call. I'd add: Zebra: "Who's behind the door" Walter Egan: "You are magnet, I am steel" Thin Lizzy: "Boys are back in town" Also I think it was Brothers Johnson who had a 70s hit but don't recall the name of it
'canes2004
I could do this all night. "When The Heart Rules The Mind" GTR Steve Howe from Yes plays guitar. Another catchy tune from the late 80's Man, I'm old.

'canes2004
Zebra: "Who's behind the door" "Tell Me What You Want" from the same debut album was probably equal or bigger than "Whos...." GREAT BAND Randy Jackson = Guitar God/song writer
