TimC
Think about this one for a minute.... Mass. city misspells 'offcial' to catch bag cheats Thursday, February 12, 2009 3:52:26 PM No, managers with Gloucester's Public Works Department aren't idiots. They're just trying to catch cheats. When the Massachusetts city unveiled its new $2 purple trash bags that all residents must use when disposing of household waste, the word 'official' was deliberately spelled 'offcial.' Recycling coordinator Kathy Middleton tells The Gloucester Daily Times the intentional misspelling is supposed to make it easier to catch people who try to counterfeit bags. Middleton says counterfeiting has been a problem in the past. John Craig, regional manager for WasteZero, the company that makes the bags, says he has never before had a community request a deliberate misspelling. Middleton says the next batch of bags the city orders will be correct. It's a good thing our Government is looking out for us. What a filthy place. Choppy
$2.00 for a trash bag?? I'd go dump mine on the front step of city hall in a .15cent bag and tell them they owe me $1.85.

Someone's got to pay to get the trash removed, one way or another. it doesn't just disappear.
Square
Someone's got to pay to get the trash removed, one way or another. it doesn't just disappear. So they just pay for the bags? I technically live outside of city limits so we have to hire our own service. It costs about 15 bucks a month. Edit, I live in medium sized city in midwest. chester
If the bags pay for 100% of the service, I guess I have no problem with it. If taxes pay for the service, I'd have a problem with it. (We have to pay for private service here)
