Chief Dick
Is this a decent router? Got it for $25 at a local MicroCenter. This will be my first one. I am on a cable modem and need to have some security. I know nothing about them, so I figured for $25 it was worth a try.
T_bone65
Never heard of them but it looks decent. The only limitation is that it only goes to wireless G, but if that is all you have it shouldn't be a problem. Good luck in getting your poker nights to work now that you are behind a router

rajncajn
I've had this one for years & has always worked extremely well. Even when my Mom was staying out back in our travel trailer we never had an issue with reception.
Chief Dick
So will I have a problem with internet speed when I'm hooked up to the one I bought? I have a cable modem now.

No, G is still faster than most ISP's provide. And for $25? Hell, it's disposable at that price.

True and if you have more than one puter they all have to be set/capable for 'N' for an 'N' router to show it's speed and even then you will probably only see a speed increase for local transfers. Could be wrong there, so I'll defer to Ursa. I still shy away from "noname" routers. They can be a pain for multi system users and their tech support usually sucks, but then that's me. muck
Surprisingly, I know a bunch about this topic. Just ask Kid Cid. You'll have to buy me lunch to get it out of me, though.
Chargerz
I don't know anything about the router you're interested in, but the Linksys routers I've used have always worked well for me.
