loaf
if they're worn every week?
Skippy
They gotta do what they gotta do in order to sell the damn things. I would like to get me some of those socks. Maybe DMD can give those away this year.
skylive5
Except for a few of the teams those "throwback" uniforms need to be "thrown back" into the bin and left there. Especially the Seahawks and Broncos.
Big John
Except for a few of the teams those "throwback" uniforms need to be "thrown back" into the bin and left there. Especially the Seahawks and Broncos. The Seahawks had never worn the lime green ones before this year, so those can't be called throwbacks. And they weren't part of the old AFL either. So why, oh why, did they have to hurt everyone's eyes with those uniforms?

I mean that ugliness is probably perfectly normal in Denver, like thinking Elway is the greatest thing ever, but not the rest of normal society. Maybe DMD can give them away "for display purposes only".

I'm surprised the NFL didn't come down on the players twisting up the stripes so much in order to create a different look.

cdrudge
Is there actually a rhyme or reason as to when they are worn? It seems like it's been AFC vs. AFC prime time games that I've noticed them, but I don't watch every game and usually prefer the CBS's AFC games vs Fox's NFC games so it may just be my selective memory. Medal of Honor
I believe it's all AFC vs. AFC games this year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the AFL. I've seen the Boston Patriots and Houston Oilers as many times this year. Chargers were in throwbacks last night too, as have been the Raiders and Chiefs (Dallas Texans) a few times. There are exceptions such as The Chiefs and Cowboys game where both wore them. then some original AFL matchups not wearing tham, such as the Bills at Jets last Sunday. There will be other teams wearing them this year too. Such as the Bucs for the first time, and are often seen on Thansgiving.
CaP'N GRuNGe
Which week are they scheduled to wear the leather helmets? Edited October 20, 2009 by CaP'N GRuNGe
Big John
Which week are they scheduled to wear the leather helmets? Part of it is they still have to wear modern equipment that look like throwbacks. For some teams, that is a bad match as the look was appropiate for the equipment used back then only.
