bushwacked
The capture of the Afghan Taliban's No. 2 commander by a joint CIA and Pakistani team dealt a fresh blow to insurgents under heavy U.S. attack and raised hopes that Pakistani security forces are ready to deny Afghan militant leaders a safe haven. President Barack Obama's administration has vowed to kill or seize Taliban and al-Qaida leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The arrest comes as relentless CIA missile strikes against militant targets in the border tribal region have killed several commanders. Â The comments are the best. Â Â There should be applied one of two methods to punish him, 1. Tank him and then dynamite him as they did to Buddha statutes in Afghanistan. 2. Let him grow his beard as long as fist size as their requirement for manhood during Taliban rule in Afghanistan and behead him as they did to Americans and British citizens. Â Â Make him listen to Sarah Palin whining on the factor and making NO sense. He will sing like a canary! Â Â Waterboard the pr1ck, then let Barney Franks have his way with him for a few hours. After that, castrate the pr1ck publicly, sh00t him, hang him and then slit his throat. Â Feed him pulled pork burritos. Â Â

Ursa Majoris
Not enough credit being rendered for these successes. The Predator actions are decimating both the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. AQ's last leader in Pakistan only lasted a month or two before going the way of his predecessor - blown to bits by a Predator missile. bpwallace49
very nice. now torture the fruk out of him and get some solid info. Â Y'know . . do you think we would have gotten info from family members of terrorists (like the underwear bomber) if the response to every single one was to torture and kill? Besides the fact that we didnt process the info correctly, does anyone think that an automatic torture policy encourages the sane people to turn in neighbors/family members if they knew that immediate torture would result? Â I think that pipeline would dry up, and that information regarding potential attacks would be more difficult to get. . . . . Â This guy is a different case obviously due to his high-ranking stature . . but others here have advocated torture and lack of rights immediately for any potential terrorists, possibly destroying any chance of having someone else "turn them in". driveby
Not enough credit being rendered for these successes. The Predator actions are decimating both the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. AQ's last leader in Pakistan only lasted a month or two before going the way of his predecessor - blown to bits by a Predator missile. Despite his earlier criticism of Bush for terrorizing Afghans through Predator missile launches, now a President Obama has vastly increased the number of Predator drone attacks along the Afghan-Pakistani border. But note the silence of the hard Left that went after Bush on everything from waterboarding to Guantanamo. One can only draw the conclusion that the last eight years of acrimony were always just about politics and power, never principles.  Why? Consider — the liberal critic of Bush was angrier about a conservative president ordering the waterboarding of three known terrorists in a relatively comfortable facility in Guantanamo than a liberal president ordering the execution of dozens of suspected terrorists in mud brick compounds abroad.  What a strange time we live in.  Bidenism

While it is noteworthy - the lefts problem with Bush had less to do with what Bush was doing and more a problem with the way he was doing it.  It was the lies and the -with us or against us (which still seems the policy today - regardless of who is disagreeing with them or what they disagree on) It was the lack of planning. The Bush admin were not fighting the war for America's benefit - they were fighting it for their own benefit.
