tosberg34
Link As one poster put it: This just proves what conservatives had all said. It was only about shaming George Bush and never about supporting the troops. Couldn't have said it better myself.
Pope Flick
Or maybe it's more a case of "the coverup is worse than the crime"? The story during the Bushco years was more him hiding the return of bodies than anything else. So you stop doing that and...the story goes away. Imagine that! evil_gop_liars
Link As one poster put it: Couldn't have said it better myself. More like short attention span. These wars have gone on for a very very long time and people have tuned out. You really have to dig deep to see any good news or progress being made by our troops in Afganastan. We like catch phrases and agenda driven journalism. It's more fun to play 7 degrees to Obama than hear about another dead son and daughter. All those yellow ribbon magnets you saw stuck on cars are now faded white are slowly being replaced by "Mooslim", "Death panel" and "Tea party" bumber stickers. After all this is the "USSA"

Riffraff
If anyone wants a good movie to watch about the behind the scenes of bringing home a hero, check out "Taking Chance" starring Kevin Bacon. I highly recommend it. For those that like governmental golden showers... sorry, no political pissing contests in the movie.

It only makes the point stronger that it was all to make Bush look bad. Funny how you liberals aren't outraged anymore now that your guy is in office. You know who you are. You resort to insults when people don't agree with you. Perch, myself and others have pretty much been civil to you and you're ilk and all you guys do is respond with petty, personal insults because we don't share your love of Socialism. How about responding to the post instead of thinking you're so smart with what you think are witty comebacks. You're not really adding anything by being a smart-a$$. WaterMan
We haven't had many years of peace. We're always in some war in some other part of another country. Edited April 10, 2010 by WaterMan

Sadly, now - its become a normal part of our lives. Yeah, but here's the rub: Why now? You mean people weren't tired of it during the 7 years Bush was in office? Why in 2009 did suddenly the media stop covering the war dead? IMO it's just too coincidental to shrug it off as losing interest or becoming desensitized to it. tosberg34
Right. Because Obama didn't run on scaling back in Iraq and putting more troops into Afghanastan. So you and I agree that it is a correct that the media did it only to get at Bush. Thanks for your validation - that's exactly what I was looking for.
