westvirginia
F'n moochers The Davey family's £815-a-week state handouts pay for a four-bedroom home, top-of-the-range mod cons and two vehicles including a Mercedes people carrier. Father-of-seven Peter gave up work because he could make more living on benefits. Yet he and his wife Claire are still not happy with their lot. With an eighth child on the way, they are demanding a bigger house, courtesy of the taxpayer. Mrs Davey has never had a full-time job while her 35-year-old husband gave up his post in administration nine years ago after realising they would be better off living off the state. At their semi on the Isle of Anglesey, the family have a 42in flatscreen television in the living room with Sky TV at £50 a month, a Wii games console, three Nintendo DS machines and a computer - not to mention four mobile phones. With their income of more than £42,000 a year, they run an 11-seater minibus and the seven-seat automatic Mercedes. But according to the Daveys they have nothing to be thankful for. 'It doesn't bother me that taxpayers are paying for me to have a large family,' added Mrs Davey. 'We couldn't afford to care for our children without benefits, but as long as they have everything they need, I don't think I'm selfish. 'Most of the parents at our kids' school are on benefits.' She added: 'I don't feel bad about being subsidised by people who are working. I'm just working with the system that's there. 'If the government wants to give me money, I'm happy to take it. We get what we're entitled to. I don't put in anything because I don't pay taxes, but if I could work I would.' Enjoy, statists. This is where we're heading. SEC=UGA
I hope a mob of angry protesters goes down to their flat and pummels them with bars of soap wrapped in running socks. You know what is interesting, I speak English, well kind of, but anyway, that was a hard read... man, the British speak funny.
Ursa Majoris
F'n moochers [/i] [/indent] Enjoy, statists. This is where we're heading. I could tell you far worse stories than that. The UK is astounding in it's welfare handouts. It's beyond astounding. They have 10 to 15% of their supposed workforce on "disability". The country is a total lazy bastard's paradise and not one politician is doing anything about it.

I have a lady that works for me, well, she doesn't know it yet but that is about to end in the next few days, and she has a "boyfriend" that has come over here to stay w. her from GB. HE is one of these that you are talking about. Perfectly healthy, though a bit dirty and stoned when he came to the office with her last week to pick up her check while she was taking some vaction time, and hasn't worked in I believe it was 3 years. He has a flat that is paid for and gets enough cash to buy a freaking airline ticket to the states and spend 4 weeks over here traveling around and touring the area. It is just sad that GB allows people to get away w. this poopy.
westvirginia
I disagree completely. If you don't agree he's truly, in his heart, a socialist, then you just aren't paying attention or are willfully ignorant. Like I said in the other thread, I don't doubt his motives, but he's definitely a statist.

If your definition of a socialist is Obama then it's you that isn't paying attention or are willfully ignorant. All you are proving is how much further to the right the political landscape is in America versus Europe. Center here is right there. Way to compare someone's political philosophy and ideology being shaped by the company they kept during important formative years to people becoming psychotic sociopaths just because they knew one. Seriously. That's weak.

Ursa Majoris
Way to compare someone's political philosophy and ideology being shaped by the company they kept during important formative years My formative years were spent in the company of Nazis and fascists. Caveman_Nick
My formative years were spent in the company of Nazis and fascists. Most of us grow out of it. I am not saying that someone's associations when young make them into one thing or another, but I am saying that people are generally influenced by the people they associate with and talk with on certain issues, such as political issues. It's not something that can be denied any more than it is proof that person A thinks something because they know person B. And this is nothing like shaking hands with a pedophile and "getting it on you", hence becoming a pedophile yourself.

He admits having a "close personal relationship" with Frank Marshall Davis. On a board? On a board for what with Ayers? HE WAS ON THE FOOKIN' BOARD OF DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS OF AMERICA, MORAN!
