driveby
I've always had a problem with the whole "one hit wonder" thing. For most "more than casual" music listeners, most "one hit wonders" weren't. Some "one hit wonder" bands put out a lot of really quality stuff. The Knack comes to mind. That being said, She Looks A Lot Like You by The Clocks has always been a favorite of mine.

Being a one-hit wonder has nothing to do with quality in either direction. The Pina Colada Song. Nope. He had another hit or 2. Unfortunately. driveby
Being a one-hit wonder has nothing to do with quality in either direction. Actually in many cases it does, which is why they were a one hit wonder. I was simply point out the inverse, lots of good acts that for a variety of reasons got labeled as one hit wonders, unfairly. matt770
Being a one-hit wonder has nothing to do with quality in either direction. I agree, lots of my favorite songs by particular bands were never radio hits. My contribution is not one of those: Round and Round, by Ratt

BeeR
Actually in many cases it does, which is why they were a one hit wonder. Hardly. I'll try once more: "One hit wonder" by definition means they had one hit. A "hit" basically means it was popular, typically defined as top 40 or whatever. Popularity and quality are two totally seperate things with no inherently direct correlation.

Just the fact that the song "Don't worry, be happy" went to number 1 proves your point.

I'm agreeing with you except for this absolute; Popularity and quality are two totally seperate things with no inherently direct correlation What I'm saying is that a crappy band can luck out and make one good song. Therefore, if the band had more quality stuff, perhaps they would have had more hits. So crappy band (overall low quality of material) + one good song = one hit wonder. I dunno, makes sense to me. But then I like AD/DC and Def Leppard so what do I know?

My vote goes to Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo.
