boltnlava
I have both as well. I just don't use the ps3 that much. My friends list is larger on the 360. That may be why. I can see why you'd think I'm a fanboy, so I won't defend myself. I just really think the whole Sony thing is really embarrassing on deserves some piling on. I'll watch it in the future. Sorry about that. *btw- Gamestop has a $100 discount going on select ps3's if you need one you might check it out. Not sure of the time frame, it just posted today though. Square
Heard that Sony America is offering one year free of a credit monitoring service for those people who had their info hacked. Not a bad gesture.
i_am_the_swammi
Heard that Sony America is offering one year free of a credit monitoring service for those people who had their info hacked. Not a bad gesture. Yep, and also offering a free year of upgraded Identity Protection software. And giving PS users a free month of the premium content, during which time you can download as much stuff as you want at no charge. They know they are getting grilled by this.....and are hoping, 6 months from now, it will all be forgotten with these gestures (that is, if they are back up by then )

Avernus
This is all fine and dandy, but when ? The only good thing about the shutdown is that I have gotten really good at the new Tiger ... I haven't even cared that it's been down.....ironically, I stopped playing any of my games about a week or two before it even happened anyways.... this is a blessing in disguise because I've only used my PS3 for VuDu and the 360 just sits there anyways....and it's funny because I actually like the interface on the PS3's cross media bar over what the 360 has, but then again I am probably just used to it... tosberg34
Playstation 3 Network back up and running (for the most part)! Turn you PS3s on now for the 3.6.1 update! Update: I just updated my PS3 but when I try to sign in it says the system is undergoing maintenance. I know they are rollling it out in phases maybe it just hasn't reached us yet? Update 2: Should have read the article more closely: Update 2: Sony's got a map of the US up, and will be lighting up individual states -- check out our more coverage link to get a rough idea of when you'll be able to play. The company also says it plans to have PlayStation Network fully functional by the end of May. PR after the break. Well, at least I got the update installed. Scooby's Hubby
OMG! I'm In! Woke up early (3:30 am) to a very pleasant suprise. Get my fix this morning, neighbors kids come over to swim later, boot them out early and back to run and gun on Black Ops. I love America! tosberg34
Hmmmm....anyone having problems again not being able to connect to the Sony Network? I'm getting the "undergoing maintenance" message when I try to log in. I was able to log in and play Black Ops this morning but it looks like it's down again. Skippy
They tweeted that they were going to shut down for some maintenance. My boy saw it and said it was supposed to be a half hour but it has been more like an hour and a half at this point.

My boy saw it and said it was supposed to be a half hour but it has been more like an hour and a half at this point. So it's probably out for a month. At least I don't really care about playing The Show online. Playing The Road To The Show is awesome. Starting out in the farm leagues and working your way up... Scooby's Hubby
Went to log in this early am and got error mesage. Then re-entered new password and got in in 3 seconds. Gotta remember to check those boxes at sign-in.
i_am_the_swammi
Fine here getting on the network...though the Playstation Store is still down at this time, though, which is where you can redeem your 30-day trial for the premium stuff at no charge for 30 days. I'm not usually one for paying for a service for gaming, but it's kinda worth it...even for me and I don't play games too often... the free month of PS+ will likely result in people signing up after the 30 days is over, especially since the free download(s) you get will likely be tied to the PS+ subscription which would render the games unplayable when the 30 day trial is over. From the Blog: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/16/...-north-america/ I'm kinda shocked at the list of titles available for free... inFamous is great...I liked Dead Nation a lot too even though it doesn't compare with inFamous, the online co-op is amazing...plus Wipeout is pretty good and I've heard great things about super stardust HD..... I already have Dead Nation and owned inFamous awhile back so I'll be getting Wipeout and Super Stardust
i_am_the_swammi
Just got an email from Sony that as a "welcome back" enticement, we can download two games to keep from: Dead Nation, InFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust™ HD, or WipEout® HD Bundle. Which should we take advantage of? Also, for PSP owners, you can download two additional games for your PSP from a short list. Finally, as promised, you get 30-days free of Playstation Plus. While you can only play games free for 30-days, you can buy as much as you want at the club-price. peepinmofo
I got Wipeout and Dead Nation. Wipeout is a classic racer game, but I havent played since the original. That was pretty kickass, so Im kinda looking forward to seeing it with updated visuals, etc. Dead Nation looked ok. Good enough to play for free! inFamous is pretty kick ass. Part 2 is out this week I believe, maybe next, so if you havent played that yet, thats a must get for free IMO. I spent about an hour dilly dallying in the PS Store yesterday. They have a lot more stuff available then the last time I went on there. Granted that was a couple years ago...
