Chief Dick
Saw a blurb at lunch about Janikowski maybe out this week with a hamstring injury. Any word from Oakland faithful? I know he's just an idiot kicker, but he's been quite the weapon and a lot of FF teams only carry one kicker.
Big John
They are trying out kickers
archiebonker
I have him too...and I just picked up someone. But dammm, I have him every year and it's kind of joke in our league that I keep trying. Finally he is producing and now this? I would like to know the news too. i_am_the_swammi
Per CBS, a hamstring injury that could sideline him for a while: News: NFL Network reports the Raiders will be working out kickers on Friday because they are concerned over Sebastian Janikowski's injured left hamstring. The team is worried that it might have to shut Janikowski down for a while. The Raiders are set to host the Chiefs in Week 7.
Big John
OAK just traded for Jason Elam sending two 2nd round picks. They don't have a 2nd next year to trade and Elam last played in 2009.
archiebonker
I just picked up Prater, Matt DEN when I heard this news about Janikowski (this sucks). If you guys are right and they just picked up Jason Elam. Who is better to have? Prater or Elam And who else is pissed about this news????? overworkedirish
What are folks thinking? Bench or drop? Pretty valuable despite being a kicker.
archiebonker
I didn't drop him. But he's not playing this week and no one knows how bad it is. I hope he's coming back soon. He's been gold for me this season. Finally.

BeachBum
I don't get it. He's a KICKER! In one league he is first in points with 66, including one 20 point week. But second is 65, 3rd 63, then 4 more with 60ish. Worst of 12 is 53, 13 or 2 per game behind. If you ignore the 20 pointer, he's back with the average. And 2 other kickers have had games better than that 20. He's just a kicker, pick up anybody else.
archiebonker
True, just a kicker...but a kicker that can do some damage each and any week. So I if I can hold on to him for a bit, I'll try. But your right. Hard to hold onto two kickers. Not much room.
archiebonker
Hey guys, Question. How bad do you think Janikowski's injury is. Do you think he will be the same Kicker when he gets back? One guy just dropped Akers from SF because it's a bye week. Do you think I should drop Jan for Akers?

The two are a wash pointswise but you'll still have to add another kicker after that since Akers is on a bye.
overworkedirish
Just dropped SeaBass for Nick Novak, SD. His bye week's gone and he's looking up. Between SeaBass's hammy issues (which, btw, this isn't the first week we've gotten wind of them), the questionable start tomorrow, and the bye week next week, that's just too much for me to risk a roster spot on. archiebonker
Well, if I only knew if he was done for the year. Would be easier. Akers has scored some good points the past few weeks. But I love the fact that Jank-ski can put up 20 + pts a week. It's always a hit a miss. I picked up Prater (Den) just in case. Not much out there to pick up in our league. keggerz
http://www.theredzone.org/BlogDescription/...er/Default.aspx The Oakland Raiders plan to sign kicker Dave Rayner according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Sebastian Janikowski has a hamstring injury and may not be able to play Sunday. He missed practices on Thursday and Friday.
archiebonker
Thanks. Wonder if that means he's out for along time. That sucks if he is. Not much to pickup for me on waivers.
