Nice! No the Browns are full of manure and trying to save face. I think they either messed up their end, or decided it was a bad trade and did this on purpose to back out. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/10/31/browns-mccarron-excuse-doesnt-mesh-with-nfl-procedures/

What they are describing happens AFTER the trade has been proposed to and excepted by the league office. Again, its a paperwork formality done AFTER the trade and usually long after the deadline. This is what happens when you try to bring Billy Ball to the NFL.
michaelredd9
A possible explanation is that the Browns did it on purpose to sabotage the Bengals and prevent them from trading McCarron to another team. A second and third round pick seems an excessive amount to give a few months before a draft with the best quarterback crop in the last 35 years. These two teams are bitter division rivals who even sometimes compete for the same fans. It will be difficult for the Bengals to trade McCarron in 2018 since so many teams needing a quarterback will be drafting one in the first round of the draft. If the Bengals can't trade McCarron in 2018, he'll enter the 2019 season as an unrestricted free agent when the Browns might be looking for a quarterback if the quarterback they draft in the 2018 first round is a bust. I'd like to think the Browns management is this smart, but there's too much evidence to support otherwise

Caveman_Nick
So...on the actual topic, I am excited to see how much better (or not) Kizer looks having Coleman and Gordon to throw to as opposed to the complete zeros he has now. Maybe we’ll even see the running game take a turn for the better when the DBs have to cover someone with talent.

Yes it will be interesting to see if those 2 can help Kizer and the offense in general. Coleman is not certain to play in Detroit and could be limited. But coach Hue said he looked like he hadn't missed a beat.
