Arrest warrant issued for Earl Thomas

Saw a headline, read a couple of stories the first had very few details of WHY. This relates to him violating a protective order. While his attorney/agent seems confused as to "how they could charge him" the story offers some details explaining that (read linked story if you're curious). Makes me wonder if the attorney somehow doesn't have that info or is just playing the "no way not my guy he's innocent" game.

This would seem to make Thomas chances of returning to the NFL slim, after his 2 year absence filled various troubles, including punching a Ravens teammate which got him cut from that team.

I remember how upset I was when the Eagles traded up, passed on Earl Thomas and drafted Brandon Graham instead. Brandon Graham didn't have much a career for the Eagles but he will always be remembered for the strip sack of Tom Brady that won them the Superbowl. Go F yourself Earl.

There were not issues with this guy, that I was aware of, for the majority of his career.

Really wonder about CTE and hoping things don't get worse.

He did flip off Pete Carroll that one time. But why did he end up leaving Seattle? Was it a money thing? He was still playing at a pretty high level at the time.

Ohh wow! I guess that'll do it.

Yep Ravens gave him a big raise. His prior contract with SEA paid about $10M/year, BAL was almost $14M. He played one season with the Ravens and they paid him $22M, compare that to $56M in 9 years with the Seahawks. And that Ravens contract was juicy compared to a one year $12M deal he was ready to take from KC.

It was late August 2020 when the Ravens cut him, after he punched his teammate. Before he could collect his 2nd year's pay, or reach the original $32M guaranteed.

I was reading a bit  more about Thomas, he held out in 2018 and reported just days before week 1, wanting a new contract or to be traded. So things were already contentious when that season started, then his flipping off Carrol when he got injured and carted off early in the season.

Kind of odd that he was in his home town (Orange), and also in West Austin where he owns a home (according to various reports I read), but wasn't arrested until police got a tip from somebody that saw him in public. Was he really hiding, or did they not even try to find him?
